Which is the best and most fun pool of all the DVC resorts? Are younger children not as excited with the OKW pool because ther isn't a slide? My children love slides. They are 5 and 8 yrs. Thanks :Pinkbounc   :scared1: :scared1: :love2: :jumping4: :jumping2:

Myine love stormalong bay with the yacht and beach club...sand on the bottom of pool, whirlpools, and yes, a great slide. We are staying at bwv this time...so we'll check out that one too!

Hi,

It's all a matter of personal preference but my 11yr DD says her favorite pool is Luna Park. Most will say SAB but we didn't find the allure of it that most others do.

To each their own!

Oh, PLEASE don't let this turn into another pool-slamming debate...

Most would agree that the pool at BCV is the "best" among the DVC resorts. It's basically a mini water park.

Other than that, you'll get many different opinions from people. Currently OKW probably has the least appealing pool because it does not have a slide. The other DVC resorts all have slides. In fact, they all have a main feature pool and one or more smaller "quiet" pools.

If you want to see some nice photos, try the resorts section at:

I chose to switch at the 7 month window from my Home Resort, SSR, to BCV soley because of SAB and lack of pool hopping to it.

Just yesterday someone posted the link to a great slide show of SAB, you can search or maybe someone else that knows how and add the link again for you.

My wife's 5 kids are 11, 11, 14, 14, and 45 (me). Last one in is a...

My family votes SAB at BC best pool. Best slide @ Luna Park BW.
We have also enjoyed WL pool. Have not been to OKW.

Our kids love SAB. I however do not like all the sand. To each his own. I prefer Luna Park pool.

Best Pool? Really depends on what ‘best’ means to you. We have stayed at both BWV and BCV with our 4 children (including 5 yo and 8 yo). So here is our take on the pools:

SAB is simply beautiful! It is large and really cool for both the kids and the adults. One word of caution: In order to use the slide, the kids need to be able to swim from the bottom of the slide over to the stairs unassisted (without adult assistance or swim-arm things etc.). It is also unlikely that you will ever be able to sit down and relax!

Luna Park is a great pool too! We found the afternoon kids activities much better at Luna Park than at SAB. A few lucky afternoons the baby would nap in her stroller and my DH and I could enjoy a drink from Leaping Libations while still keeping a constant eye on our older children (all very good swimmers). We were always able to find a table and chairs with shade. This proved to be a much needed break from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks. The kids also loved the clown slide.

In short – for beauty and coolness SAB, for everything else Luna Park.

Remember, too, that OKW is apparently building their own slide next fall. This will make their pool more appealing to the younger or more active set.

We were fortunate to visit SAB last year while Luna Pool was being rehabbed, but I'm not sure I would like it with a 5 year old. A little too spread out for my taste. If you travel at a time that hopping is allowed I would strongly encourage a visit to the Contemporary. There are fountains to play in, a shallow kiddie pool and a large pool with a slide that are all in clear view of the central Whirlpool. It was great to sit in the whirlpool and be able to keep an eye on my daughter.

We loved the pool and the slide at VB (we are talking all of the DVC resorts, aren't we?).

Our fav' pool in all of WDW however is Uzima Springs at AKL; since it is a "zero-entry" pool and they have water wheelchairs available there, our 6 yr old wheelchair-bound DS can use it easily (and loves it). Oh yeah, and they were feeding the flamingos beyond the fence at the edge of the pool area one time too; waay cool! Of course, no pool-hopping to AKL, so we'll just have to stay there over the weekend.

I believe SSR's feature pool is going to be along the same lines as the AKL one, so we'll have to try it out some time.

So far this is the only negative comment made on the thread.

if you kids are fearless - then SALB at BC/YC/BCV -

the Luana Pool at BWV would be next on this list

your children might like the slides at PO - next door to OKW.

old man river - POR

but generally for your age group the slide at POFQ - is great - but if your kids are used to slides - this thing is very, very, very tame.....

how about going to VWL and using the slide over at WL - since I assume they are used to that one. then you get to pool hop (at least for a while) to the Polyn and GF.

The VB pool area is great! My older DS and I loved the slide (it's really fast - try the water slide races ;) )....and my younger DS simply could not get enough of the Tiger Lilly (a small pirate ship complete with water cannons and kiddy water slide) (I enjoyed the Tiger Lilly too - until a lifeguard came and asked me to get off :) - no adults allowed).

Hey...it's not in WDW, but it was the most enjoyable in our book!
