What is the best guide for planning a vacation to Florida? We are looking at 2 days at WDW (thinking MK and AK), also possibly Shamu's house. We have 3 young children (5, 3 and 10 months). Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks

The UnOfficial Guide does a great job. If I'm remembering correctly it covers SeaWorld also, as well as Universal/IOA.

Yep, Unofficial Guide has a section detailing other local attractions including Universal, Sea World and the local water parks.

And I'll extend my suggestion to echo what the previous poster said. Unofficial guide is tops.

I have both the Unofficial Guide and the PassPorter and love them both!! ::MickeyMo

Unofficial Guide, hands down! If you were only going to Disney, I also like TourGuide Mike but he doesn't cover any parks outside Disney making it a very simple decision...

The Unofficial Guide! :earsgirl:

Definitely Unofficial Guide by Bob Sehlinger:)

I'm not sure when you are planning your vacation, but the next edition of the Unofficial Guide comes out in August. We plan to get it for our October trip!

Passporter and Unofficial Guide are great companions for each other. I have both and love them. ( Ok I actually have a FEW guides but these are my favorites!!)

I don't know about you, but just reading Birnbaum's always makes me extremely happy. That's the official guide right? I really like it.

Another vote for the unofficial guide. Simply the best in my opionion and all my trips have been great thanks to it!

Well, while I enjoy reading the unofficial-guide and birnbaums, I found these boards to be the best place for tips and information. The Disers on this board have done it time and time again, and we really got some great tips from here. My vote goes to the dis boards for best planning guide!

captJack88, I have to agree with you. For all information that deals with Disney from the parks, dvc, to the cruises, I have learned more and the most up-to-date information on these Disboards then any book could possible have. With that said, it is hard to curl up with your computer. The 3 guides mentioned so far seem to be the best.

Go for the Unofficial Guide. Just be aware that it is realistic - no pretty pictures or colour, but a frank consumer orientated view of the whole of WDW (as well Universal and Sea World).

For me, the honesty is vital because Disney can be a tricky place especially if you go during a busy hot time. Considering the age of your kids I think this is even more the case.

I also like WDW with Kids by Kim Wright Wiley. I also got helpful information out of the Unofficial Guide and Birnbaum's. I am a planner, but I don't like to plan everything down to the second. I plan major things, but then let the days plan themselves. I think that is why I like Wiley's book the best.

I have actually gotten the most helpful information from these boards. At least here you can ask your specific question and chances are good that someone knows the answer, or at least where to find it.
