Anybody have ant good suggestions on where to watch the parade and fireworks? How far in advance do you have to stake out a spot to watch these?

For the parade, people will sit on the west side(shady side) of Main Street upto and hour before. Main Street and the Hub fill first. Town Square and the parade route from the hub back so Small World Plaza have plenty of spots 15 minutes out and even spots minutes before the parade comes through.

For the fireworks it's best to see it from the Hub or Hub and of Mainstreet where you have a clear view of the Castle and Matterhorn. Some trees can obstruct that. This area starts filling about an hour before and is full about 30 minutes out.

Well, I found the WORST spot for watching fireworks on my last trip! ;)

I staked out a spot at the Hub, in front of the castle, slightly to the left side (across from the entrance to the Plaza Garden Stage where bands play or dance groups perform)
I thought I'd have a great view, but when the fireworks started, all the lower fireworks were blocked by a tree right in front of me.

So, I do recommend finding a nice curbside spot at the Hub, but stay either centered to the castle, or more on the Tomorrowland side.

Definitely IASW for fireworks! I think most of the "tourists" don't realize it goes back there, so line up on Main Street. The IASW crowds don't build until they start roping stuff off and people are like, "Hey the parade's coming, let's watch." We stumbled upon it when coming off of IASW last time and were really up close and personal...my girls got lots of kisses blown at them from Princesses. Main Street is kind of overwhelming during the parade....people everywhere...people trying to exit the parks between floats...and just a lot going on.

The hub is the most immersive experience for fireworks because there are some that go off literally around you in the circle. The view is pretty good anywhere down Main Street though. We've timed it where we get off the train right as they start and watched from the platform up high. It was nice, but we couldn't see Tink fly.

I am sure this poster put the first sentence with fireworks in it and meant for the parade as that's what the rest of thier paragraph is about.

I read in a post on this forum that viewing the fireworks from one of the rafts is a great view?

I think you may be thinking of from the Storybook Land Canal boats, which will pause during the show. It's a unique place to view from, on one of the floating boats. I would give it an 8/10 rank for the view. It's very good but not great. Great is from the Hub and Hub end of Mainstreet.

The Hub/Main street is the best view for fireworks because otherwise you miss the effects around the castle. Though I do enjoy watching the fireworks by IASW or ROA, too. It depends on the show.

Parade we like to find a spot on Main Street. We park our booties and send someone for ice cream. How long you'll need to stake out a spot will depend on the time of year and crowds.

where exactly is the parade route... I know it starts on main street, but where does it end?

Is IASW "It's A Small World"?
Thanks,
Kerri

Yes, and HEY!!! We have the same name! :)

Ya, not the rafts, the island is closed by the time fireworks go off. As Ski said it's the boats on Storybook Canals, your timing has to be really good tho...... :)

doesn't the parade go both directions? If they do 2 parades 1 starts at IASW and goes to MS, then in the afternoon it goes from MS to IASW.......
