Hi all ,

I am slightly interested in renting dvc points as it seems like a great way to stay at a dvc room. I have been looking at dvc rental store and David’s vacation club. Unfortunately with David’syou aren’t able to make flexible payments though this seems possible with dvc rental store. . What sites do you prefer to book from or are there any other places that you would recommend?

I am new to all of this so any advice would be much appreciated!

Have a look on the rental boards here… there are lots of owners that will do payment plans if you are happy going direct with an owner. It will be cheaper too and probably more flexible in getting the resort and dates you want!

Personally, I only use the Dvc Rental Store since you only have to put 25% down once they secure the booking and can do payments as long as you are paid in full 75 days before arrival. They have a decent cancelation policy where you can cancel and get credit for a future trip. The credit is good for up to two years. I recently stayed at the Polynesian renting dvc points with them and have used them many times with stays at the Grand Floridian, Riviera, Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, Boulder Ridge and the Boardwalk. It's best to get your request in 11 months prior to your trip if your looking at one of the more popular resorts like the Polynesian or the Riviera since studios book up quickly. David's is a very reputable company but I prefer to deal with Dvc Rental Store because they are based in the US (vs David's in Canada) plus they require full payment too

The only other site not listed that I’m aware of is dvcstore.com, who used to sponsor these boards back in the day. I have no idea what their payment terms are. I have rented both sides with David’s and been happy but yes they are STRICT with their policies (I happen to like that about them but it’s not for everyone).

As someone new to renting our points out, I liked David's a lot. The reasoning is the renter has to pay 100% up front. I get 70% now and 30% upon check-in. I get when someone renting those points may not like it, but if they can't agree to those savings over rack rates, then just book with Disney since you are able to cancel more easily. Saving money at WDW almost always requires a tradeoff.

I think the rental section here is pretty solid. You can ask the owner for a flexible payment plan. I’ve done that.

I've never rented points but I've rented points out in the rental section here and on the facebook group.
