What are the best places to eat at Hollywood Studios?

We have always got a quick bite on the run in the past or not eaten at all when at that particular park, so what do you suggest as being a good?

Our favorite restaurant food-wise in all of WDW is Brown Derby. It's always a must-do for us!

I second that.... ate at BD for the first time on our recent trip... a bit pricey but sooooo worth it!
Mama Melrose is another favorite

We enjoyed the Sci-Fi. Had a lunch ADR for Brown Derby but when we arrived and read the menu we realized they only have one menu now for lunch and dinner; same menu. The lunch items we were interested in had been changed. We wanted the Cobb Salad as an entree but now it's only available as an appetizer. We cancelled and went to the Sci Fi.

I've eaten at 50s Prime Time cafe several times and have never been disappointed. The food is always great with huge portions and it's a really fun atmosphere.

Another vote for the 50s PT Cafe. Stay clear of Sci-Fi unless you want to do it once to experience it. The food has been terrible there for years...

Prime Time for table service - for counter service I prefer to just not eat...

I totally agree about the Counter Service options, bleh! Mama Melrose is another one that we've had good luck with!

We love 50's PTC - neat atmosphere w/50's theming, can be fun if you have a server who is into playing his/her role, good food - love the pot roast :thumbsup2

We also like Sci Fi for lunch - the burgers are very good & we enjoy the cool/dark atmosphere of eating in the car table while watching the old movie clips.

50's PT is all homecooking type meals?

The Sci Fi does look cool. Does everyone sit in cars that eats there?

Yes, PT is homecooking type meals. We are in the minority here, because we did not enjoy our meal there. We love Sci Fi and if you have an ADR you sit in the cars. There are a few tables in the back that I think walk-ins can sit in.

I like brown derby but it can get very pricey, I didn't like PT at all, I usually go to MGM but at lunch time I walk over to epcot for lunh then go back.

Loved Loved Loved 50s PT! Great fun and really good food we thought

SciFi is a big open area with "cars" that you sit in all facing a big screen running promos of old B movies. It is dark and you don't face each other. Probably better for older kids.

I like the Commissary for quick service. They have a curry dish I really like :tigger:

We ate at Sci-Fi last February and LOVED it! It ended up being one of the best meals of our trip, we had a blast!
Food we had:
DH had the Bacon Cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate shake. Excellent burger!
My Mom had the chili and a strawberry shake (shake was well gone before the chili arrived, my children "helped" her finish it!). She was talking about that chili days later!
Me: I had the veggie burger with sauteed mushrooms and cheese, REALLY good! The fries are excellent!
DDs - shared the kids pizza, our waitress divided it onto 2 mickey plates before she brought it out and added more veggies! AWESOME service!

I highly recommend it.

This time we are going to 50's Prime-time because we have vowed to try all new restaurants this time and because I think my mom would love it, otherwise we would be back for sure!

My rankings:

Brown Derby
Sci Fi
Prime Time

I think the food is the same quality at sci fi and prime time but I give the edge slightly to sci fi for atmosphere.

I did not have a good experience at Mama Melrose, so I can't recommend that one.

The only counter service I can recommend is Starring Rolls, the selections are limited, but are very good.

Sci-fi is a LOT of fun...so unique.
It's a must do at least once.

Prime-time is second on the fun factor.

But, I have to say that last week we went to Starring rolls and got the sandwiches and that is about the best Disney food I have had in a long time. Plus, it was nice to sit outside and just enjoy the day.
It doesn't hurt that they have butterfinger cupcakes for dessert....
chocolate cupcake
filled with chocolate fudge
4 inches of white icing
dipped in a hard chocolate shell
coated in crushed butterfingers

I had to share it 4 ways.
