With the upcoming weekend forecast looking very warm - what are some good places to take a break and cool off?

The People Mover used to be my favorite place to cool off - never a line, even on very busy days.

My personal favorites:

Tiki Room (with a Dole Whip of course)
Pirates of the Caribbean
Haunted Mansion (they keep it freezing in there)
Aladdin
Animation Studio
Shady Spot in the Redwood Creek Challenge Area

White Water Snacks in the GCH

Haunted Mansion definately
POTC
Its a Small World
With a Vanilla/Cherry Coke at Coke Corner. They have fans over most tables.

splash mountain can get you pretty cool! ;)

but yeah ^^ most definately haunted mansion. the line is (usually) not that long and with all the ghosts floating around it gets you pretty chilly. :cold:

Grizzly will get you cooler than Splash. LOL Otherwise I agree with the other ideas, we also just like to walk the shops, in NO Square, on Main Street, over in DCA on the main drag. They are usually very cool. :)

Any of the shows are a nice break from walking and great to cool off. We like It's Tough to be a Bug over at DCA.

I agree about the People Mover - it was a favorite of my group of friends in the old days, and we used to love riding it because it was so long and relaxing and there was NEVER a line to get on it.

If you meant taking a break from rides and standing in lines and just the general hustle and bustle of the parks to cool off without a 'time limit' like would be the case with a ride (and believe me, I HATE hot weather so I will seek out any cool spot I can find), I would highly recommend the Animation Building. Even if you don't want to explore all there is to explore in there, you can literally just walk into the cool, dark main room and plunk down on one of the comfy chairs and watch the different snippets of Disney films on the screens above you. That is an excellent way to just sit like a lump for as long as you want and cool down. Something about the darkness of it is very calming, too. Yes, you could do the shows and Innoventions too, but those involve doing something more than just sitting like a lump. In the Animation Building, you literally don't have to do anything if you don't want to, except close your eyes and veg out!

I also particularly like sitting and cooling off in the lobby of the GCH (again - dim lighting = calming). We went in there last October to sit in the extra comfy chairs and chat and cool off a bit, and I swear I could barely move after 45 minutes or so. I was practically molded into the chair, I was so relaxed.

What is so exciting about a dole whip? I have read so much about how these are can't miss foods never had one...

Dole Whips just taste good (to most people, not everyone of course) and they are very light and refreshing. That's all. :)

Another vote for Small World...it's a nice, LONG ride & almost as cold as the Haunted Mansion inside!

INNOVENTIONS!
Honey I Shrunk the Kids
A bug's life show
Aladdin
The GoldenHorse Shoe for shows

Animation Studio is #1 in my book! I can spend tons of time in there on a hot day.
