Hi my sweets make my meal- I spend most of the year not having any to stop me heading towards a look a like contest with pooh, but on hols I really want to have nice ones.

But I am celiac so need gluten free food- which usually cuts down pud choices to not much.

I hope this thread can be one that tracks down good resturants with desserts for us celiacs- and we can keep it going and add as we find some.

Babycakes at DTD - all their desserts are vegan, as well as soy and gluten free.

There were some posts awhile back about the possibility of ordering Babycakes items to be delivered to WDW restaurants. Maybe someone will know how that works if they're actually doing it.

Most TS places have great desserts. Check out my dinning review. I have many pictures of GF food.

just looked at the review, food looks so good. But I see that most of the gf desserts seem to be choc based or creme brulee - About the only sweets I don't like are choc ones and creme brulee would be OK but prob just for one meal.- Where there any other choices Do they do any cheesecakes, tarts/pies or sundays in any of the places that you went to.

thanks for doing the review it will help me with my choices I have 14 TS meals to use up - not Dxdpd so not app . I only need 10 days of food as goimg to universal O/N and don't want TS food on days of arival and departure so can do 2 sigs (may do more and just have the odd day with CS meals only.

Just seeing this...I have dining reviews from our GF September trip in my trip report (there are chapter links on the first page so you can skip to the restaurants)...we went to Babycakes a LOT and really enjoyed it.

At TS places, a lot of the time we were just given French Meadow brownies with ice cream, which got old fast. Other than that: the maple creme brulee or the chocolate mousse at Le Cellier were GF. At 'Ohana they brought over chocolate tortes from Kona, and these were GREAT (but chocolate--sorry!). At Boma, they have GF zebra domes (you just have to ask, and they'll bring them out from the kitchen for you) and a couple of the regular desserts were GF--some little peanut butter things and something fruity (can't remember what; I don't do fruity desserts ). They had gelato at Mama Melrose, and it was really good. The kids got sundaes a few times, but I don't remember any on the adult menu for anywhere we ate--although I'm sure they'd bring you the kids' one if you asked.

Next year we've decided we're going to try to hit up more places with milkshakes on the menu :).

We called and asked about this when we were there last month, and they weren't doing it then.

Most TS places will offer you a brownie or ice cream or fruit. A few will have creme brule or sorbet or chocoloate chip cookies. A few might allow you to order a cheese plate if they have it. Unfortunately, that's about it. I consider this to be great considering it's more than anywhere else in the world, but if you're not a chocolate lover or can't have eggs or milk then you're limitted to just ice cream (soy or rice based) or fruit or sorbet. That's the position one of my kids is in. I hear that these days for dinner at 1900PF they bring out what I like to call the Chef TJ special dessert which is this huge tower that includes fruit, brownies, marshmallows, ice cream, cotton candy and chocolate sauce but I have yet to have this served to my kids (you might find pictures of this from the past at 'Ohana from back when Chef TJ used to work there). Oh yeah, the ice cream sundae at Kona includes cotton candy which is GF.

The delivery of cakes from Babycakes to restaurants is still in its infancy. We've had it done twice. The first was handled completely by the club level CMs at our resort who went to DTD to pick up the cake and deliver it to the restaurant at our resort where we were dining and the second was this past August but the folks at our resort had to go pick up the cake for us (we were again wanting it at a restaurant at our resort) because the folks at the cake line said they couldn't make a cake that fit our long list of needs. I would basically try contacting Babycakes themselves or contact the cake line of the resort or park you want to dine at to find out about a cake delivery if that's what you want. If you're going to DTD anyway then just pick up a box of mixed goodies.

You can also skip the dessert at the restaurant and get some kind of frozen treat (Itzkadoozie, frozen banana, pineapple bar, strawberry bar, Mickey ice cream) or popcorn afterward (if you're using a dining plan then I really do understand not liking this option; it's one of the many reasons dining plans just don't suit us any longer because my daughter can only eat so many scoops of ice cream).

If you'll be eating CS at your resort frequently then you might want to ask the chef about baking up some Kneads cookies. The chefs at Pop made up a batch of Snickerdoodle cookies for my daughter on our last trip. She loved them!! At resorts you might be able to ask if they'll order in Kinnikinnick muffins. At Pop one of the chefs got some of these in during our stay just to try them since he was at a food show and thought of us when he saw them (clearly we have good reason to love Pop Century).

Oh, just remembered...I haven't gotten to it yet in my reviews, but at Planet Hollywood they had gluten free chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies, and brownies, all of which we were told they make on site.

Ohana had the best. The chef asked dd if she liked chocolate and he brought out a no flour lava cake for her. Ds asked if he could have one. She ate every bite.

Itradehilton--Wow! What great reviews. We just returned from our first trip (we have food allergies) and have since learned that our daughter has Celiac Disease. It is great and reassuring to know when we go back that the chefs will accommodate! Thank you!
