Best place to watch Fantasmic?

I have never been the MGM, & wanted to get the skinny on Fantasmic! Best place to watch, etc?

This is just what we found to be the best....YMMV. We did the Fantasmic dinner package in June, eating at Hollywood and Vine. We were guarranteed spots in the "Witch" section...however, we came to find that it was faaaaarrrr to the right of the "stage". We sat down and realized that we couldn't see the stage as we were hoping we would. We had gotten there early enough, though that we were able to sit in the Mickey section...front and center. We had the best seats in the house. Getting there early makes all the difference!

Yup. That is where I always like to sit- Mickey section, front row! Be forewarned that you can get sprayed sitting down in the front (not necessarily that you will). The big water screens give off a LOT of water. But it is a very good show.

Just in case you didn't know, Fantasmic takes place in the Hollywood Hills Amphitheatre, behind Tower of Terror - it seats 9000 people, the majority of the seats give you a great view, I think just the ones at the far ends would not be the best.

We did the Fantasmic dinner pkg...the seats were to the side, but we had a good view. To me, a seat a bit off to the side is well worth not having to wait in line for 2 hours!

If you do the dinner package. Do you have to sit in the assigned area? Or can you sit where ever you want once you get in there?

It depends on how early you arrive. If you arrive early enough, you may not have to use the dinner package seats.

We sit in the center section but all the way in the back. We prefer not to get wet or smokey and one of our normal travel party is in a wheel chair.

I think we great a great view from there but then we have never tried right up front.

The Mickey or Scar sections are the most central . . . I like to be about 3 rows back from the front, but you can get misted a bit up front. If you don't want the possibility of mist, sit about 8-10 seats from the front. Except for the most busy times, I find that I can get these seats about an hour ahead of time (even if it looks crowded, go down those aisles and ask people if empty spaces you see are available).

If you do have a dinner package, how early do you have to be at show to get sits w/package? and do each dinner package have certain section for each restaurant..does anyone know? Every interested is see Fantasmic for 1st time also...8/6/2006

How late can you show up and still get 4 seat together during October?

At lower-attendance times of year or at the second show (or third) on nights when Fantasmic! is performed multiple times...
you will have little trouble finding a spot for a group of four to six to sit together in the areas more to the side of the theater (still good seats for viewing) if you arrive 35-40 minutes before show-time.

If you want to sit in the Mickey or Scar sections, however, a full hour (or a bit more, if crowds are heavier) would be a good idea.

We always plan to have our evening "meal" in the stands during our wait-time for Fantasmic!
You can buy and eat food inside the theater area.
The hot dogs are pretty good... and popcorn, big soft pretzels, even cotton candy make for a "baseball stadium" fun (if not too nutritious), snack-meal.
