with 3 adults & 2 kids???
was hoping for a ALl Star but see they won't allow more than 4 people...AND the rates for "off season" are still $100+.....
SO I'd like any info you could share...

We stayed at Holiday INN Family in 2002---waaay overpriced & the shuttles ran few & far between & there was usually standing room only!

SO we're looking for a place with shuttle & b'fast (continental is fine) that's maybe a suite so we have a pull out couch or something.

JUST A PLAIN OLE GOOD DEAL.....oh yea & a pool...

if you are planning on staying onsite - get a rental car.

I like the LaQuinta Inn and Suites - it is new.

the LaQuinta Inn Lakeside is a much older resort - but it has stuff for your kids to do - no free breakfast though. the bus transportation was like you descripted.

only WDW has really good bus transportation to WDW parks.

now some people here have say that Best Western has good transportation.

Check out the Rent and Trade board. Renting points from a member is a smart thing to do. Well, maybe I should take that back, i rented from a member last December and ended up a member myself a couple of months ago. Ahem.... :teeth:

we are going to try Buena Vista Suites. There is info on the home page here and on mousesavers. The rate is good. They do have a shuttle (no reports either way on that). Free breakfast buffet. Trip Advisor reports seem pretty good. Some other DISers will be staying there in the next few months so I'm interested in their feedback.

Well I would get online and check out discount hotel sites. www.hotelkingdom.com and ww .che apho tel s.co etc.. I went to the homewood suites website and booked 3 months out at a web rate of 67.00/night. Free hot breakfast buffet and managers reception plus transportation. Most of the suites on Palm Pkwy offer free breakfast ans decent transportation. Embassy suites,Homewood suites,Hawthorn Suites...
There will be 2 adults,2 teens and a 7 yo. The Homewood suites sleep 6 and the total for 10 nights including tax was 760.00. ( I think the weekends were only slightly higher)We will also have our own transportation.

Never stayed there, but have heard that Country Inn and Suites Calypso Cay was a great deal. Not sure if they are renovating from the hurricanes or not? Someone else may know more.

Hi there. Have you looked at SkyAuction? Last year we stayed in a 2 bed 2 bath, full kitchen, dining area, living area, screened porch, washer and dryer condo very close to Disney for 401 for 7 nights! We stayed at the Vistana (in the Lakes section) and loved it. My daughter was thrilled with the 7 different pools. You would have to rent a car but at these prices and being able to cook meals (which saves lots of money), isn't it worth it?

This year we have won a 3bed 3bath unit at the Embassy Grand Beach that we plan to share with our daughter's best friend and her parents. Each couple will pay $346 to stay for 7 nights!

Hope that helps. I don't know much about the other hotels in the area.

Almost forgot that the couch in the living room pulls out. Usually the 2 bedroom units at the Vistana sleep 6 or 8. I think the units sleeping 6 are the older units though.
Just remembered you said you have 3 adults in your group.
Good luck!
