Best place to send a complaint letter

and that is it....i've said way too much on this subject.....
let us agree to disagree on this one...(and remain friends while agreeing to disagree)...

You Americans are just greedy. :P (joke by the way before anyone jumps on me lol) :D

What an interesting thread this has become! And the OP only wanted an address!

I read the OP's post differently from most people, I think. I just thought Pigby wanted to inform Disney that this happened, not sue them or expect to get anything from them, just let them know that it happened.

youre not alone, i thought the exact same thing.:goodvibes

hope the rest of ur holiday went ok.xx

Me too. Sometimes it worth letting companies know if you have had an accident. It might make then put up new warning signs or maybe change the load limit.

Hope you are feeling better OP!

I agree it is usually worth informing them that it happened but i just wouldnt expect anything from them unless it was reported at the time of the accident.

I had an "accident" at DIsney a few years back, we were doing a fireworks cruise at Epcot so the boat was parked underneath the bridge. The fireworks hadnt started yet and all of a sudden i something hit me on the head, with quite a force as it knocked me over. Turned out it was a large torch - that a kid had dropeed off the bridge above. The parents were stood there laughing and asked for the torch back as it was "expensive" no apology or thought as to how i was or anything - i think my husband nearly threw the torch back at them! It completely ruined the firework cruise for me as although i wasnt bleeding my head was in such a lot of pain and my vision was all blurred - although my dad kept joking that i "should have seen it coming".

The Disney cast member that was on our boat - and indeed the other boats next to us could not have been more helpful - the people on the boat next to me even offered me some of their brandy to help with the shock!! I was even offered a free cruise as i hadnt been able to enjoy that one. For me that was completeyl unexpected as like others had said - it wasnt Disney's fault that the kid dropped the torch!

Completely tangengtle but similar to Laura's case.

Christmas 2004 I contracted Meningitis and spent a week in hospital in Celebration, I didn't have to hand over any money as my insurance company were contacted immediately and they liaised with the hospital direct but DH popped down to All Star Movie reception and spoke to the manager on duty just to let them know because it was 10 days into holiday so wanted them to be aware just in case anyone else got sick and by the time I came out of hospital (having missed Christmas) there were balloons, a big Minnie plush and a photo signed by the girl herself, completely unexpected because the illness had nothing to do with Disney at all.

I think we're all quick to jump when things aren't quite as magical as we want them to be but not very forthcoming with the little extra things Disney do to make our trips better.

I think you have the address now and who knows, maybe they'll review the putting of separate familes in together :confused3

Good luck and I hope you hear back from them.

If the other person had been compliying with the instructions and holding on then the OP may not have a case but they were not holding on correctly therefoore the OP was injured on a Disney attraction while it was not being used correxctly. In this country if you work in a warehouse and used a forklift incorrectly and injured yourself you would still be able to claim for your injury against Employers liability insurance. In some cases there are higher standards of care expected.

I'm very sorry the OP was injured. I think it is dreadful that the other family just walked off. I do agree that it would have been better to say something at the time but hindsight is wonderful. Nothing wrong with writing now.

As far as families sharing on rides like Teamboat springs my understanding was that there was a minimum number of riders as well as a maximum because of the large size of the rafts. I suspect the minimum was 3 so they would have been at it already but 5 would not have been over the maximum. As a single rider who can only do these rides if I get put with other groups I would be sad if this changed but would understand.

Im sure i remember reading that it is a minimum of 4 people per raft. We usually go as a group of 4 and are never put with other people, however this trip my mum didnt come on with us so we were a group of 3 and were put with another group of 2.

Correct, it has to have a minimum of 4 people in or they won't let you go. It must have been designed for 4 -6 riders, no less.

Teamboat Springs is the world's longest "family white-water raft ride" at1,400 feet (430 m) long . This attraction sends guests down a twisting series of rushing waterfalls. Water Park guests sit in large blue rubber rafts, which can hold a minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 persons, equipped with handles to hold on while the gushing water takes you down the slide. No infants and other Health Restrictions are advised.
