Best place to sell gold right now?

Was wondering if anyone has sold gold lately and what the best place with the best return would be?
Kind of nervous about the one company where you mail in but there seems to be good reviews.
If you did it locally what was best..jewelryshop; pawn or a gold place like in a mall?

I know the prices probably are not as good as 6 months to a year ago but just wonder what the best route would be?

This is such a tricky topic ... I recently sold some gold but I sold it through a friend who knew someone in the business and therefore I was offered top dollar.

I would NOT sell through one of those "Send us your gold in the mail companies" nor would I sell it to a Pawn shop ... both of those places are going to attempt to give you rock bottom dollar for your pieces.

Your best bet, is to visit a few of your local jewelers in town and see if they have any one they recommend for selling/buying gold. Obviously it's best to "shop" it around and see who gives you the best rate.

One other piece of advise I can give you is ... know what you have! There is a lot of people out there that can take advantage of you because most people don't know the quality of their gold, what K it is, how much it weighs, or even if it's real or not ... do your research on what you have, get it weighed and test it for authenticity if you have any doubts, that way when you go to sell a piece you know for sure what your selling is real and if anyone tells you differently you know to walk away!

Gold may have lost a little value, but it's still VERY valuable!!
