What is your favorite Disneyland reataurant for breakfast?
Characters not important. Food important :)
We would like something that we don't have to get up and serve ourselves (traveling with 3 little kids)!

Looking for something at either DTD or Disneyland Park. We are staying at Grand Californian.

Story Tellers Cafe, it's a character meal, but you can order off a menu instead of using the buffet.

Ariel's Grotto in DCA is serves family style and has Princesses.

SteakHouse 55 in the DLH.

Rain Forest Cafe, for the kids.

La Brea Bakery.

Carnation Cafe in the park (unless you're going this spring when it'll be closed).

Is CC outdoor seating only? Just curious incase it's raining.

It was, but specifically during the rehab it's undergoing, indoor seating is returning to this dining location.

When are you going? Carnation Cafe is currently being refurbished so this may not be an option.

I like Storytellers - but it is pricey for their non-buffet breakfast menu.

If you would like a Mickey-shaped waffle, I suggest the Paradise Pier cafe (not the character breakfast, but there's a cafe across from the gift shop). There is a bit of a wait to order and for the food to arrive, but everyone's food is brought on plastic plates with covers. Prices are reasonable too :-)

My boyfriend and I were surprised at how affordable White Water Snacks at the GCH was for breakfast. The portion sizes were generous and the food is excellent. I recommend the buttermilk biscuit sandwich and the California breakfast burrito. :thumbsup2

I want to add that I've only been to DLR once as an adult back May of 2009 (my first time since I was a kid who was too young to remember anything as an adult) and there are a lot of places we didn't try for breakfast that we'll be trying during our trip this month, but I wanted to make this suggestion based on our last visit.

My favorite is definitely Steakhouse 55 in the DLH for a delicious table service breakfast. It opens at 7am. Catal in DTD also serves a tasty breakfast.

We will be there for a quick 2 day weekend trip on Jan. 20th.
:thumbsup2 Thanks everyone for the great responses and ideas!

Steakhouse 55 hands down-same prices as carnation cafe, but much better food (obviously a little different ambience-but pretty good as well)

Storyteller's has good food, but the character interaction was weak. Since you said characters aren't important, you probably won't care. My problem with Storyteller's breakfast is that you may as well go buffet to get the best value out of the experience since entree plus drink price is almost up to the price of the buffet anyway. While they don't have pancakes and waffles out on the buffet line, you can ask for a serving of them to be brought out for you even if you ordered the buffet.

For best food and best value, I would pick Steakhouse 55. I also like that it's not usually crowded there, so it's often a pleasant, quiet, out-of-park experience. My only complaint would be that the service was slow the couple of times we have gone.

If you want something for the ambiance, then you might want to consider Riverbelle Terrace in Disneyland. The food is not fantastic, but it's ok. The kids will like the Mickey pancakes, and being able to sit out by the Rivers of America is a great experience for the whole family.

We did Steakhouse 55 last trip, based on opinions here. We were "disappointed." First, the food was equal to Carnation Cafe, however, it was considerably more expensive. (Price for eggs/potatoes/bacon/toast at Carnation $10, at S55 $12. So 20% more. 3 pancakes with bacon at CC, $10.49... At S55, $14. Money isn't the issue though. Just pointing out it is NOT the same prices.) Second, the service was slow. Third, the food was cold when it arrived. I seriously expected much better based on everyone raving about it. My daughters were not impressed. It was not worth the extra time.

I'd suggest RBT as well, we very much enjoy a quick bfast there. They won't serve you, you do have to order in a line and then seat yourselves but it is good food. Also AG, bfast is served family style and they do serve you, while you will see Princesses the food is decent is as well and they will bring you refills if you need them.

That is funny, two different experiances again.

We were there from dec 19 until the 28 and had breakfast at both steakhouse 55 and carnation cafe.

Our meal was much better at the steakhouse 55, mush better. More expensive yes, but the quality of food, and the service was amazing.

Not to say that the service or food was bad at carnation cafe, afterall we did eat there again three times, but our experiance at steakhouse 55 for breakfast was far better then carnation cafe.

I think it really depends on the day, your server.

YES. By the time you add a drink, you're up to buffet price, but you're now stuck with just the thing you ordered.

And the characters can really distract little kids from eating.

I've heard good things about Steakhouse 55 for breakfast.

We ALWAYS enjoy the mickey pancakes at RiverBelle Terrace. It's counter service, so you're in line, but you aren't *serving* yourself, you're just carrying the trays to your table.

And of course there's WhiteWater Snacks.

RBT, gets my vote. Can't beat the view, and the Mickey Mouse pancakes!
