Hi Im new to this board, we just booked a Mexican Riviera Cruise and my daughter is super excited because she wants to go on the zipline tour she saw on internet...Where is the best place to do a zipline tour?

Hi Sophia,

We are also going on a Mexican Rivier Cruise on the Wonder have been doing tons of reseach on excursions in each port.

Puerta Vallarta is THE place for Canopy Zip Line tour and we booked Puerto Vallarta Cruise Excursions- Canopy Zipline & Mule Ride Tour as it was highly recommend.

There are many options out there but this one seems to be one of the best and the price was excellent plus you also get the mule ride which sounds like a lot of fun.

Good luck with your choice welcome ot the Disney board:cheer2::cheer2:

We were in Puerto Vallarta in January on Mariner of the Seas. We did the Los Veranos Canopy tour, which was absolutely awesome! We booked directly through the company, and it was very reasonably priced.

as an alternative option, my husband and daughter (age 10 at the time) did the one in Mazatlan (booked through DCL). They LOVED it!

We used them in 2008 on the Panama Canal Cruise and it was and still is the favorite excursion my family has ever done on a cruise..

The staff was great, they took video while you were zipping and we all really loved it

The thought of doing a zipline sounds scary anf un all at the same time. Has anyone had an 8 year old child do it with them? Ds will be one month shy of 8when we go and I was thinking it might be something special for him and I to do together. What if he freaks out when we get there? Is there no turning back? Can you ride tandem?

I'm interested in this too. I believe in Cabo my sister found one that said you must be age 7 to ride. Others required older, I assume because they're bigger. Has anyone had a young kid ride? Is it harder for them? My daughter will also be a month shy of 8 when we go, and my boys will be 9 1/2 and 11.

Last summer my daughter and I did Vallarta Adventures' Outdoor Adventure zipline excursion in PV. That one was booked thru RCL but we're hoping DCL offers it next spring so we can do it again. It was fantastic! Speedboat, truck ride, mule ride, ziplines, rappels, ziplines into water - one of the best excursions we've ever been on, and this from someone who is terrified of heights. I felt completely safe (and exhilarated!) the entire time. Unfortunately they won't take kids under 10, but for anyone with older kids I highly recommend it!

My DD's first zipline experience was in Costa Rica when she was 10. In January we had my 7 year old nephew in our group. He's not usually very adventurous, so my sister showed him the videos on the Los Veranos website ahead of time. The guides at Los Veranos are excellent, and they offered to ride tandem with him. But after the first warmup line he was fine.

I'm afraid of heights, but always feel very safe when I zipline.

Another vote for Vallarta Adventures. DH and I just did this in April and it was the highlight of our trip! Actually we are considering doing it again on our cruise in February.

I personally have not done Los Veranos but I have heard good things about it too. We went back and forth trying to decide between the two and ended up going with Vallarta Adventures because one review said that they had a better time on Vallarta Adventures than Los Veranos. But I really don't think you'll go wrong with either one. Both are highly recommended in Puerto Vallarta.

Thanks soo much for everyones input!! We looked at all the suggestions and think that Canopy Zipline and Mule Ride with Puerto Vallarta Cruise Excursions is the one we are most interested in. My daughter loved the idea of the mule ride but I've never ridden one. Are they friendly? Is it like riding a horse? My husband is close to 200 lbs, do you think they can carry that much? A cruise is definately not the best time to go on a diet!!! LOL:rotfl2:

Mules are very sweet from what I've been told. I had the exact question;-) As for the weight, they told me 275 lbs so your husband is more then fine.

I am really happy with our choice:dance3:

Do they pick you up at the ship and if not how do you get to where you need to go? Hubby and I are very interested in doing this!

And one more question can we go off the ship to do this while leaving our 5 and 6 year old sons in the kids club?

Another vote for Los Veranos. We did this in 2008 and it was great. It seemed to have more zips and longer zips than the other tours.

At the time, the Disney ziplining tour had an age restriction. Our youngest (6 at the time) did the Los Veranos tour with no problem. He kept doing the Tarzan yell!

My kiddos will be 6 and 8 at the time of our Mexican Riviera cruise, Don't know if they can/will do a zip line. Also not sure if I can get my hubby to do any of it. I absolutely want to do the zip line and mule ride though. Anyone have experience with someone coming on the excursion but not doing the zip? How about the mule ride, can the little ones ride with a parent?

We did the excursion thru Royal Caribbean and yes, the meeting place was right next to the ship. If DCL doesn't end up offering this as an excursion for the Wonder, then you can book directly with Vallarta Adventures on their website and they have a meeting place at the port. (It's cheaper to book direct but last time Vallarta Adventures said when the cruise ships buy up the spaces they can't let cruisers book directly.)

Sorry - haven't cruised with little ones so can't help about leaving them in the clubs.

We're also looking for MR zipline excursion info. Thanks everyone for sharing it.

I like the fact that "Outdoor Adventure" uses two safety ropes for added security, but it sounds like the is a more physical tour. Is that right? I'm not sure our children can handle that OK.

Are "Los Veranos Canopy" and "Canopy Zipline & Mule Ride Tour" relatively easier? Should I be concerned that they do not have the double safety ropes? I've also noticed that people on "Outdoor Adventure" wear gloves while people on the other two tours don't.

Looks like "Los Veranos Canopy" is very popular. What's special about them? You can ride tandem with them, correct? Also, do you have the pay $20 additional for their transportation?

The "Canopy Zipline & Mule Ride Tour" sounds very interesting. Good value, and the mule ride is a plus! Nice finding, Wavegirl, thank you!
