Hi all :goodvibes

We are heading to DLP in just over 4 weeks time - WOO HOO!!!! - so now the planning is really happening

Our two kids will be taking spending money (they've been saving for MONTHS!) and it's our intention to say that they can each buy something on the last day of our trip. Where is best to do this? Is there a big Disney Store in the Village? I think I read somewhere that there's one under construction... or is there a better shop in Disneyland Park/Studios itself??? DD will probably want to buy something Princess related, and DS will probably go for Cars/Toy Story stuff.....

Also, are there lots of things for sale that can't be bought from Disney Stores in the UK? Part of me thinks it might be better to save back some of their cash and take them to the Disney Store when we get home so that they can buy a smaller "post-holiday" treat.. soften the blow of leaving DLP :sad1:.. but then I have heard how expensive the toys, etc, are in DLP maybe they'll need all their cash to blow on one nice thing :lmao:

Thanks in advance..

There is a new store being built called World of Disney. It wont be open for some time yet though.

There are plenty of shops for you to visit. The village is full of shops selling Disney stuff. There's a large toy shop, a clothes shop and an art shop amongst others.

Most of Main Street in the main park is shops and there's also a large one inside Studio1 in WDS which is great for movie related goodies.

Most lands have large shops as well. So if you kids like Buzz lightyear toys, there's a toy shop next to the ride in Discoveryland. If they like Pirates there's a pirate themed shop next to Pirates of the Caribbean in adventureland.

The shops are everywhere!

I've found that the prices are a bit more expensive than the Disney stores in the UK. Largely because the exchange rate is so bad (for us) at the moment.

Most of the stuff that they sell can't be found outside of the resort as it is exclusive.

On your way out of the main park there is is a shop on your left hand side which stocks reduced and sale items. Its worth having a look in there as I have picked up bargains here in the past:goodvibes

I'm curious.... there is mention of an art store... is it like Art of Disney in WDW where you can buy drawings? I have one Snow White and would love to get some more i Paris as another trip to WDW is a while away.

I've not been to Art of Disney in WDW so can't compare. But it does have loads of drawings and original cells. Some of them are very expensive (€1k's).

They also sell lots of porcelain figurines, some crockery and Disney books.

You can see pictures of inside the shop here: http://www.photosmagiques.com/gallery/disney_village/disney_gallery.php

As well as the Disney Gallery in the Village, the shop at the exit to the World of Animation in the Studios also has artwork for sale.

Its also worth checking out the post ride shops for ride themed items that you may not find elsewhere in DLP. Like the Tower of Terror shop which stocks bell hop bells, TOt
T wallsigns and keyrings that Ive not seen elsewhere. Great Toy Story shop at the back of Rc Racer in TSPL in WDS.

fifi rose can you clarify exactly where this discounted shop is please?is it the one next to where you can hire buggys?

many thanks :)

We found a lot of stuff in the Disneyland Hotel shop that we didn't find anywhere else - Disney Xmas decorations in particular (and we will probably get some more this year).

Hi,
We tend to look around all the shops during our trip and if somehthing catches my eye I will make a note of where it was and get it on the last day or the day before so i can pack it because i am a nightmare for buying something as soon as i see it then go to another shop and see something better :rolleyes1
I did find on our last trip that they were doing if you spend E20 you get a plush (ie we got a Louis from princess and the frog) for E10 euro's and they were retailing at E19.90. They were different plushes in each shop that they were doing this offer. We did get a couple of these offers and put them away for Christmas.

Definitely get it when you see it or you spend your last day searching the many shops in vain!!! Sometimes, different shops have different offers on, our last trip the hotel shop had some different deals to park shops.

I think FifiRose is talking about Plaza East and West Boutiques which I always go in to look for a bargain too! They are mentioned in the Brit Guide I think? They are as you head out towards the gates, just before you leave the park - you can't miss them!

Yep those are the very ones Mumtobelle. I've picked up lots of bargains there over the years:goodvibes

The photomagiques.com site has good photos of these shops if (like me) you still can't picture where they are:thumbsup2

Snap, I'm exactly the same - work out what I want to get during the trip and then get it all right before we leave.

I found they had different plushes in different stores too. From my avatar pic, you can probably see my fav character is Rex, and the only store I found a plush of him in was the Star Tours ride gift shop of all places and we only stumbled in there by accident right before the park was going to close! Def good tip is to shop around

What kind of things do they sell? might have to pop into there before going anywhere else for gifts

All sorts, great for gifts of all shapes and sizes, last trip they had edible gifts (biscuits, chocolates, sweets, etc), t-shirts, mugs, glasses, stationery, toys, magnets, hoodies, snowglobes, hats, literally all sorts of different bits & bobs.
