Where is the best place to buy Disney tix? I was looking at Get Away Today, but I wasn't sure if there was a better place to buy them.

I know they are good for a year, but I wasn't 100% sure- that's a year from the date of first use, right? So if I bought a ticket today and wasn't able to use it until Nov. '09 or something ridiculous like that, it would still be good? Or am I confused?

Are they all the plastic credit-card style now? And if I print them online do they change them to plastic at the ticket booths, or. . .

I am just wondering, because we're going for 8 days and I don't think that paper tickets will hold up for that long.

Thanks!

DLR tickets expire, they aren't like WDW tickets. The 2008 tickets that you purchase today are only good through January 5, 1009 (with the exception of the spring promotion tickets, which are only good through April 24). After the first use of the hopper, you must use the additional days within 13 days.

Tickets come in different forms from different vendors. Getawaytoday mails you vouchers, which then need to be exchanged for tickets at DLR. Other vendors (ares, etc.) send you actual tickets. I understand that DLR is in the process of converting their hoppers to plastic, but many paper versions are still being used. I honestly don't know how you can guarantee that you'll get a plastic ticket. Have you considered AP's?

Interesting, as I was looking online at getawaytoday.com, it didn't give me the option of having anything sent to me. It looks as if I'll have to pick them up directly from will call? I was dreading having to do that....but we really want the 2 EE days.

Looks like GAT has changed their policy and now is paperless. Good for them! They used to use vouchers, now you just pick up at will call with your id. Thanks for filling me in!

Hi. I didn't want to start a new thead so I wonder if you could help me and maybe it will be of use to the OP too. I have a friend coming for 4 or 5 days in a few weeks. We are staying onsite so I don't need any EE deals. And I do want park-hopping too so the 2fer deal is not enticing. Is the 3 for the price of five days probably my best bet?

Whew! Thanks for letting me know ! I'll just wait to buy my Tix until right before we go. What a disaster THAT could have been!

APs are actually a possiblity, I just have to clear it through my husband. If I know for sure we'll go again in the next year, totally worth it, but we might not, in which case. . . not so much.

Thank you so much for the information!
