Best place for steak onsite

If you are looking to spend a lot of money - and don't have the dining plan - Shula's does serve a fantastic steak. But its expensive, not really child friendly and not on the dining plan.

If you are on the dining plan and want to spend two credits - Yachtsman is the signature steak house. I haven't been there, so I won't comment. All the other signature places will also have a steak on their menu, and - except for one steak we had at Narcoosees - all have been very good steaks. However, when going anywhere other than a steak house, you won't have a choice in cut - it will be whatever steak is on the menu with a single preperation (the kitchen can change the preparation if you ask, but really the steak at Jiko is about the Mac n Cheese - otherwise its just a good steak). I thought the steak at California Grill was excellent, and the steaks at Flying Fish and Artist's Point are very good as well.

For one credit restaurants, the only steak house is Le Cellier - I think its overrated - but it is a good value for one credit. Like above, its the only "steakhouse" where you'll get more than one choice. Almost every other restaurant will have a steak of some sort on their menu (buffets don't generally have "steak" but they might have a flank steak or prime rib) - but you won't get choices in cut or preparation - we are fond of the steak at Teppan Edo and prefer that to Le Cellier. Kona's steak is pretty well regarded as a one credit steak, as is Coral Reef.

(ETA: Le Cellier used to be a good value out of pocket, but its popularity has come with price increases, and its no longer a good value OOP. If you don't have the dining plan - spend a little extra and head to Yachtsman.)

Yachtman's Steakhouse has my vote for the best steak. LeCellier is also pretty good, but quality wise, Yachtman's is better.
