Best place for rack rates? My 35% quotes were hundreds of dollars more than expected.

The 2021 prices released today are insane. We are renting DVC, and I was checking to see if dining plan was available. Room and tickets at the Pop came out within $200 of what we are paying for our Boardwalk rental and tickets.
Agreed. Put down 3 deposits today for stays throughout 2021 and the prices were very high!

yep just add mousesaver room rates total, then substract 35% for room portion. To the pennies on our RO reservation numbers. Then just add in the ticket part.

Not sure if ticket prices may be a factor for you. Usually they increase 2/3 times a year and depending on when you locked in the price, could be a chunk different

Thanks, those must be. Why is this so complicated lol? I have to find the right ticket, multiply by the number of days, add the park hopping, and then add tax (which is 6.5%, is that right?). It's not that I can't handle that math, it's just that there is so much room for a little mistake and I want a total price staring me in the face haha!

Then for the hotel we're staying 9 nights, and if I'm reading mousesavers rates correctly there are 5 different rates because we cross over a season and there are 2 or 3 different rates depending on the night of the week. So I have to add them all up, take 35% off, and then add 6.5% tax if I'm correct.

then I took our total and subtracted what I got for the ticket price, and compared that to the 35% off rack rate and was actually pretty close. So I guess it is correct, which makes me feel better and also points our how darned expensive the AoA suites are! Darn twin B that we can't fit into a deluxe room anymore :P I think their total is more than the less expensive deluxe rooms.
Hotel taxes at WDW are 12.5% except in Osceola County (All Stars) where they are 13.5%

For the past few years Disney has been raising the rack rates of the resorts ever so quietly. Maybe two or three times a year. This used to never be the case, but it is now. They really like to do it right before a discount is released. The rates that Mousesavers puts out every year are correct, but for only so long. Some resorts rates are raised more frequently than others and/or at a higher percentage than others. Disney is sneaky about doing this now, but it has been going on for the past few years.

I don't know! I don't think Gran Destino's rates went up too badly. In line with other increases in past years.

Tax is 13.5% or so - 7% rooms tax, 6.5% sales tax. Osceola County is .25% higher than Orange County - so, ALL and the All Stars.

Mouseavers already has the tax figured in.
The 2020 rates we have listed DO include tax. At most of the Walt Disney World resort hotels the tax is 12.5%, but at the All-Stars the tax is 13.5%. See the notes at the bottom of each resort rate page for details on tax rates.

Therefore I had to then figure out what the rate of the room is before tax. Then figure the 35% off, then figure the tax on that and multiply the number of nights staying. Or are you charged tax on the full price of the room? If so then we would have to still figure out what the room rate is w/ out the tax. Then take 35% off that amount and add the original tax amount back in. Still it doesn't account for one of the 3 quotes having the tickets roughly $300 less then the other 2. Either I'm getting 35% off 2 of the options and more off the 3rd or 2 of them I'm not actually getting 35% off 2 but am off of one.

Well using the link to ticket prices posted I found that the cost of tickets did go a little. But the cost was right in the middle of the various ticket prices I figured.

Basic math, if you know the total and it's comprised of 2 things added together then you only need to know the cost of one of them to figure out the cost of the other. Room rates are all different. However, I should have gotten the same for the tickets every time. I did account for being off a little by not worrying about weekend rates and rounding. Which means I basically got 2 different ticket costs. So something is not correct.

But what will the rates be for a room in say July of 2021 The rates listed now will not be the rates for the rooms say in March 2021. They will have went up. You could lock the rates in now but if a discount comes out I don't know if it would be applied to the rate you locked in or the "new" rack rates.
