My husband and I are going to WDW in January for the Goofy. Where do you eat to carb-up before the race? Last year we went to Portafino (DTD) and it was good but not very big portions. This year we were going to try Tony's Town Square (MK) however it will be closed.

Where does everyone eat????? we want to make ADR's really soon. Thanks for your help.:hippie:

I've made ADRs for Rainforest Cafe at AK (but you don't need park admission to get in) before the half, and at Spoodles before the full. I'm not sure how these will work out, but I'll give them a shot. There is also Mama Melrose at MGM that you could try out. Wolgang Puck's at DTD also has a good looking menu, but they don't take advance reservations.

This is my first marathon at Disney though, so we'll see what some of the vets have to say!

I've heard that they have a nice pasta station at the Food Court at POR and since that's where we're staying that's where I'll be doing my carbo loading Saturday night.

THere's a cafe across from the Expo (All Star Cafe ?) that offers a special pasta dinner on Friday night starting around 3pm. It might be there on Sat. night as well, not sure since I only did the half last year. It was a $10 buffet offering salad, pasta, different sauces, bread and drinks. It was pretty decent.

From what I recall....most any dining establishment at WDW will have some kind of pasta dish to include the food courts at the value resorts, the sit downs and food courts at the moderates and some place at the deluxe resorts.

You should be able to find it anywhere. :)

Last year we stayed at Port Orleans so we ate at Capt. Boatwrights the night before the marathon. They had a pasta dish on the menu, but it had all sorts of stuff my daughter didn't want in it. She told our waiter she was going to run the marathon and just wanted some plain pasta with chicken and he said no problem. I think alot of the restaurants have simple pasta dishes on the kid's menu and they can always vary it up a little bit for adults.

Mama Melrose at mgm by the muppets show. YUM!

Miranda would you like to set up a group reservation for the Mama Melrose on the evening before the Marathon for a early dinner. Erica and I would love o join you guys. Any place recommended by our resident chef sounds wicked good.

That sounds like a great idea! I will talk to my mom and try to make it happen. :)
