BEST place for lunch in Downtown Disney

Need suggestions. We are going to meet up with our Great Aunt for lunch while we're there.
She tends to like the "fancier" type restaurants.

I was thinking T-rex would be fun and fairly easy to get into on a Monday around noon. But not sure if this will be chaotic to her or not.
Yes, we'll have the kids, but this lunch is for her, so that's whom I want cater to.
Any ideas???

Cost isn't a factor, just want the best food and atmosphere.
Some of the places I looked up "Crab house place", sorry can't think of the name at the moment. Seemed great, but then the reviews weren't the best.
Just cause it's expensive doesn't mean it the best place to eat I'm finding out.

IDEAS????
She does NOT want to buy a ticket to get into a park, so it must be in Downtown Disney. We also have ressies for our daughter at the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique at 2 that we'll all go to afterwards, so a resort restaurant won't work either for timing.

THANK YOU for any suggestions!!

Fultons is really good for seafood, and we love Ragland Road, it is one of our favorites in DW! T-Rex is lots of fun for the kids, food is so-so.

The fanciest restaraunt at DTD is probably Wolfgang Puck's Cafe. Unfortunately, I haven't been there, so I can't vouch for it's quality.

Another option that gets very good reviews is Raglan Road, an Irish pub themed restaraunt. This is new since my last visit, but I look forward to trying it on my December trip.

How about eating lunch over at Animal Kingdom Villas at Sanaa??? Fancier and the kids will love seeing the animals so it could be a win win deal!!!!
:lovestruc

Fulton's, definitely. The menu is great if your party likes seafood, and the kids may enjoy dining on a riverboat. I've never been to Portobello for lunch, but I like their dinner. It would probably be a good choice too.

If I was at Downtown Disney and wanted lunch....hmmmm

My first choice would be to take the boat from DTD to Old Key West Resort and eat at Olivia's. A great place to eat, relaxing and a nice setting - plus a nice boat ride to boot! Add 20 mins on each side of lunch for the boat ride. For lunch almost any days an ADR is not needed.

At DTD itself? Wolfgang Puck Cafe (not the express), Fultons Crab House, or Ragland Road. All good choices.

I went to T-Rex with a family group, kids from 9-15, and adults. We will not go back because it was so loud. Fun to do once, but it does not seem to be the atmosphere you are looking for.
I have been to Fultons once for dinner and everyone in the family loved it. Excellent food and service, and we were on the dining plan.

Don't go to Captain jacks....sorry, just the worst ever.

Olivias at OKW resort is right next to DTD and has great food. Check out their menu. This is a quite, beautilful resort with a lovely restaurant.

I vote for Wolfgang Pucks for the fanciness factor.
Or Raglan Road for the classic-style and yumminess.

Puck Cafe, Fultons and Raglan Road would be the best bets.It sounds like a Counter Service place wouldn't be something your Aunt would like. Ten years ago Capt. Jacks would have been a good option but it isn't what it used to
I think TRex and Rainforest might be too loud.

Our absolute favorite is Earl of Sandwich, but that is a counter service restaurant. For table service you can't beat Raglan Road. Great food, great service! :thumbsup2

Another vote for Raglan Road. Excellent food (with the best bread pudding I've ever had in my life), excellent atmosphere, and great service. We love it so much when we went that we ended up going twice. Got the same thing both times: Fish 'n Chips. I can't recommend this place enough!

Mail2artist, given the criteria you outlined, I highly recommend Portobello: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=92

We were just there for lunch in August. You don't hear or read much about it, but we really enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the service. The soup was outstanding and the pizza and pastas were flavorful and very fresh. It's in a central location right on the water and very close to BBB in Downtown Disney. T-rex seems like fun and so does Raglan Road, but given your great aunt's preferences, I think Portobello would be a good match. (If I were selecting a Downtown Disney restaurant for my grandma, this would be my choice!)

Good luck with your decision, and have a great time!

I know it's just a sandwich but...
Earl of Sandwich is delicious. I can't wait to have the holiday sandwich.

Another vote for RR. Their food is amazing and lunch there is normally quiet and relaxed.

T-Rex - very noisy
Earl - too casual
Raglan Road - good food
***Fultons Crab house is fabulous for lunch. We like it better then dinner. Prices are reasonable and the service excellent. It is relaxing and everything on the lunch menu is very good.

If I hadn't seen your pic, I'd think you were my great-niece. (No, I'm not that old. My older sisters are just a lot older. ;) We do live in FL & meet family at WDW often. I also like nicer restaurants.) I'll be the dissenting voice on RR. I've been there twice, & I'd choose WPE over that. We haven't been impressed with anything we've ordered. FWIW, I've been to both RR & T-Rex with a great-niece & great-nephew, & given the choice I'd rather return to T-Rex. It is loud, but we think the food is better. That said, when I'm choosing, I skip both of them. I'd choose Portobello, Fulton's, then WPC to meet all your criteria. For good food, but a louder restaurant, we also like HOB. Enjoy your time with your great-aunt. :) It's always nice to have family time.

For a nice lunch at DTD I would pick Wolfgang Puck Cafe (not the express). It's one of my favorite restaurants at WDW.

I can't comment on Fultons (allergic to seafood) or RR (nothing on the menu that I eat)
