Hello,
What is the best place to view the fireworks show? And how early do we need to get there to get good seats? We went last year, but just watched the fireworks from the same place we viewed Fantasmic and really couldn't see that well. Hoping for a better view this trip.

Thanks!
Jane

Well I find that right in front of the castle in the middle of the compass thing that's on the ground is a good view. When I say middle I don't mean sitting in the middle of it, you won't be able to because that part is behind the ropes, but sit across from the south arrow because your view wont' be blocked by trees.
As for what time to get there, that depends on what time of year you're going and what day. When I was there last november we went to sit down 15 minutes early, expecting to get really bad seats but to our surprise there was hardly anyone there and we go to sit right in the middle in front of the castle. It was amazing, but I think on average some people will wait up to an hour to get a good spot.

Yep I agree with Christina! The fireworks are Awesome from in front of the castle. They are amazing and I get goosebumps each time I see this show!

I have also heard that in front of Small World is a good place too but I have not personally watched from back there.

We'll usually set up camp and enjoy some popcorn and churros about an hour before the fireworks begin. Many people are lucky and get good seats in less time though!

Have fun! :yay:

I have never been "right in front of" the castle. But we have been in the hub twice and had a great experience. It is hard for me to imagine that being in front of the castle would make a big difference. If you go on a weekend evening try to get there 60 minutes early. If you go on a weeknight (fireworsk will not be shwon on weeknights until June) then you may be able to get away with 30 minutes early but I would do 45 minutes early to be sure.

If you have two nights where you will be seeing the fireworks, I would see them the second night back by Its a Small World. Its a very cool affect, they project these images on the exterior of Its a Small World. You won't see the castle, Tink flying too much but the crowds are less of a bother, there is more seating to be had and its sort of a different version of the same show.

But definitely see them from the hub area first since that is where they are best.

Enjoy your trip to Disneyland!

AHHHH now I remember you were the one who told us about the projections on IASW. I cant wait to see them next time I go! :thumbsup2

I hope they still have them! I realized after I posted this that I haven't seen Remember since last June. Now that the 50th is over, they may have tweaked that show a bit. But if they are, they are very cool indeed!

We always go back there when my fil is with us, he's disabled and scooter bound and the hub is just too nuts for him. But even if the projections are gone, its still a great place to see them as a back up kind of thing.

LOL some people got the park benches infront of the castle and waited like 4 hours for them... But on the road infront of the castle, people started to grab spots about an hour or an hour and a half before. Personally I would want to do that insted of waiting 4 hours. Besides if you are travelling with others, then as long as one of you stays to hold the viewing spot, then you can at least switch it up to get up and stretch your legs, go to the bathroom, grab a drink and wait for the show
