Hi everyone! Just like the title says, I was wondering where the best location at the Boardwalk is to see Illuminations. We are planning a relatively low key vacation this trip, and the mass exodus out of Epcot through the world showcase after Illuminations isn't something I'm looking forward to. We are hoping to catch them from the Boardwalk every now and then since this is our hotel this visit :) Thanks for all the help!

There is no direct view of Illuminations from the BW.
A couple of suggestions from personal experience:

1) If staying at the BWI, go to the quiet pool for a fun way to watch Illuminations fireworks
2) Wander dowen the Boardwalk towards Beach Club. Stand on the bridge over looking the Friendships waterway to Epcot.
3) Wander over to the Atlantic Dance Hall and watch from there.

You really can't see anything but the high stuff from there, and even then it's not a good view at all.
There is really no "mass exodus" through the international gateway after Illuminations. It's the same 5 minute walk it always is, you'll just have a little company. No wait to get out or anything,

As PP stated, it is very easy to get out from the IG after Illuminations. When we stay at an EPCOT resort, we always stay in the park for Illuminations. It is so easy to get to your resort after the fireworks, that it is a shame to waste that opportunity. We always watch Illuminations from the Africa area when staying in the EPCOT area. Most people like to watch from an area that is closer to the buses if staying at other resorts. If you do want to watch from the Boardwalk area, go to the bridge between BCV and BWV. You will see the mass of people lined up there at fireworks time.

If you go to the bridge, between BW and BC areas, you will have a fair amount of company. Lots of people stand there to watch what they can of IllumiNations. But, even when we've had a higher up room, with a view of IllumiNations, it doesn't take the place of being inside Epcot for the show. You only get the higher up fireworks.

If by chance you are staying CL, then watch them from the balcony of the Innkeepers Lounge.

The bridge over by Swan/Dolphin is pretty good. If you have a standard room at BWI, you could ask for high floor facing Epcot and get a room with a view.

No matter what, you'll only be able to see the high fireworks, none of the lower stuff or the globe will be viewable.

We just got. Back and was pleasantly surprised tocatch all 3. From the bw. Illumination s, wishes which we could see over bcv And fantasmic which we can see fromm the slide by the pool

We enjoyed Illuminations from the benches outside of Jellyrolls recently. We had the music on our iPhone and listened while watching the higher fireworks. As an added bonus, we were able to hear some of the piano music from Jellyrolls, too. After the fireworks were done, we popped into Jellyrolls for the show.
