I'm going to Disneyland in the beginning of August and it will be my friends birthday when we are there.
Are there any really good restaurants for a birthday?
:cool1:

We had a great birthday dinner at Rainforest Cafe. You guys may be a bit old for that though.

I like Rainforest a lot as well!

I don't know if this is good for an overall birthday dinner (because I haven't tried it yet), but if you think there are some ice cream lovers in the group you may want to venture over to the PCH Grill in the PPH and try the enormous Kitchen Sink Sundae - it is served in a kitchen sink-type bowl. It has something crazy like 12 scoops of ice cream, all kinds of toppings, candy bars, brownies, cookies and other stuff in it. It might be a big hit at a birthday celebration!!

Also, if you join the Patina Group's birthday mailing list, they will send you a $30 off coupon to use for your (or anyone's) birthday at various places, including Catal, Naples and Tortilla Jo's in Downtown Disney. You might want to go online and check that out for your friend!!

Napa Rose at GC. And at DTD Catal or the Jazz Kitchen.

Rainforest Cafe was on top of our list. We are a bunch of 17 year olds but we are all big kids. I'm going to look into the Blue Bayou as well.

I also really liked the ice cream idea. My friends and I would eat that whole thing. I've seen a special on tv about it and it looked amazing.

Thankss!

My DH and I went to Napa Rose for my 40th. What an amazing experience! The food and service were on par with the French Laundry and Commander's Palace.

Shoot! Just saw your last post! In that case, thinking back (a long, long way back! :lmao:), I would have enjoyed Blue Bayou or maybe Goofy's Kitchen.

Sorry I didn't connect your PP with the fact that you also did the OP!

Awesome!!:thumbsup2 I'm glad the Kitchen Sink idea sounds like it might go over well. Perfect for a birthday, I think. Make sure to take photos of it before you guys plow into it, so you'll have something to show us when you get back!:rotfl2:

Rainforest Cafe has a lot of things on the menu, and the atmosphere is really fun (cute gift shop, too!), so if you end up doing that I think everyone will have a good time!

Too old for RFC??? Who's too old for RFC?? That's silly. :)
RFC is good, we did a bday dinner there for DD10 when she turned 8. :) Then when she turned 10 we did BB. We did WCT for my bday last year, BB for DBF's bday last year and we can't remember where we did DD13's last year. LOL It might have been BB or maybe CO but honestly, none of us can remember. LOL

We've gone to the RFC for my birthday a few times. It's a fun place and we love the volcano. I just wouldn't go out of my way to go there, because we have one here so for us it's nothing special. The only time you can go to BB is at Disneyland so that makes it more magical to me. Either choice is good though.

I think that sounds like the best suggestion of the bunch! Jneugs, let us know where you end up and what you thought!

I would also say the RFC is a good place for a birthday dinner. My neighbors and my family had a birthday dinner at the RFC at the DTD in WDW and she loved it so much. She always like to eat at any RFC around the US.

I recommend Rainforest Cafe as well. The atmosphere is really fun and I had a great time celebrating my birthday there several years ago.

I think we're going to decide with RFC. The birthday girl doesn't know we're doing this but we know she'd love it. I just have to go over it with the rest of the girls (there's 14 of us!)
We're all the type of teens who love to do stuff like that. We're not "too cool" for anything. Haha.
I'll let you all know where we decided on!

Who's too old for RFC? I am! My DD chose that for bday dinner for years and I always cringed when I had to go. It's crazy loud in there, everything's sticky from all the water features, the restrooms are dirty, the prices are high and the food (to me) is bad enough I just get a beverage. LOL! She got dinosaur chicken that was the same frozen nuggets from the grocery store!

Yikes!:scared1: Well, I don't think any of us here who recommended RFC ever had that experience, thankfully. I've always enjoyed my RFC visits - food atmosphere, etc. (I didn't check out the bathroom, though). Since it's where the OP is most likely going to go, I think it will be the perfect place/atmosphere for a group of teens celebrate a birthday.

I'm sure teens will enjoy it. I should clarify my experience is all with the Phoenix one, not DTD, and I'm old and curmudgeonly!

I've been to RFC so many times I can't count them.....LOL And we've never been disappointed with our food or the bathrooms or the noise or feeling inside. As I've said many times we've had "eh" service but even that is far and few between. :) My DD likes the chicken nuggets but she prefers the pizza there. :) :)
