I am watching a show on the Travel Channel about best pizza places in the US.

What are your favorite places? Where are they located? What are your favorite types there and why?

I have 2 favs:

1) Theo's Pizza: Somerville, MA: This is hands down the BEST pizza I've ever had-buttery crispy crust, gooey cheese, great spices in the sauce, just delicious! My favorite types are plain cheese & eggplant. This is also the place of origin for the sitcom "Two Guys, A Girl, & A Pizza Place"

2) Antonio's Pizza: Amherst, MA: If you are a UMASS alumni, you will know what I am talking about!;) It's one of those places where you order slices & they offer about 20 different types of slices-everything from tortellini pizza to seafood pizza to mexican pizza, and the normal toppings as well. This place is always crowded & infamous amongst UMASS students. If you live in AZ, there is a pizza place in downtown Tempe called "Slices" that was inspired by Antonio's (they even have a photo of Antonio's on their wall!)

Let's hear your favs!:goodvibes

1st place=Newport News, Va. Dino's Pizza. I started going when I was a teenager, the stopped until a few years ago. I don't even eat the pizza chains anymore.

2nd place-far from where I live, but Honolulu Hawaii. Big Kahuna's pizza, different variety and a must try is the Garlic cheese balls.

John's in NYC.

DH and I only ever ate at the one by Times Square, yummy! We still talk about it!

OMG!! I went to UMass and nothing beats an Antonio's slice at 2:00 am after copious amounts of beer. Ah, the good old days.

:thumbsup2 Just as I said-any UMASS alumni would not contest a shout out to Antonio's!! We actually just moved back to the area (or 20 minutes from) & they have not changed one bit!

We have couple here that I like. But Renna's is my favorite. The pizza is greasy, but not to greasy. Just enough to give it some flavor. Second would be Brooklyn Pizza.

Secret to great pizza...the water in the dough...

FL pizza stinks compared to the pizza in NJ...we do have a local place though that comes pretty close to my NJ favs.
