We leave first thing tomorrow morning for Disney. Our original plan was to do MK tomorrow & AK Monday. My SIL has been there all week & says there is nothing for my daughter (18 months) to do at AK. Should we choose a different park? Or maybe choose a park that DH & I would enjoy rather than focus on her???

I think there is something for your child at every park. MK for sure is full of toddlers delights but that is not the only one. We love AK.There are paths to explore and animals to meet. Not a lot of "rides" for a little one there. The triceratops spin will be fun for herl. She should like several of the shows. Pocohotis is great for toddlers and Nemo and Lion King are both wonderful for all ages. A trip out to discovery island to the petting zoo and of course the safri ride would be perfect. Epcot is also great for toddlers and might be the one you adults would enjoy more as well if you can only do two parks. The least toddler freindly I think is MGM but even there toddlers can have a blast.

Just go and enjoy.Your toddler will be fine.

We took DD at 22 months and she loves animals. Most people just miss the whole point that AK is actually a ZOO there are animal exhibits everywhere. They are very natural looking and almost everyone just rushes by on their way to the rides. WOW they are missing SO much. AK is fantastic. We plan to spend the whole day next trip just enjoying the animal exhibits. That and the Safari. We are not big show people but we really enjoyed the Flights of Wonder. We saw some African Acrobats too.

If all you want is rides, skip AK. But AK wasn't built to be about rides. You need to slow down, relax and take it all in. In my opinion, that is what a toddlers world is ALL about and AK is perfect for my animal loving toddler! I highly recommend it for yours too. And really it works out ok that most people don't notice the animals, because you pretty much have the exhibits all to yourself, unlike a regular zoo where you have to deal with crowds!

Thank you so much I think we will stick to our original plan. DD loves animals so I thought she'd be fascinated by the petting zoo & safari. I think the PP is right when many people forget it's a zoo type atmoshpere & focus on rides only. Really I dont care about rides and I'm sure DD doesnt either. I just figured she'd love seeing all the fun stuff at AK including the Nemo show. Thanks for confirming what I originally thought!

We will be going to AK more often...DS has been to afraid of most of the attractions at MK, including most of the ones in Fantasyland. He did pretty well with safari, and others at AK.
