What would be the best park to visit on Memorial Day? I had picked Epcot because I figured Memorial Day would have a lot of locals and they would be least likely to visit Epcot. But the best days website has Epcot as being the park to avoid that day. Any thoughts??

I do not know the answer, but I need to!! I will be there then and I have discovered that there is only one fant. that night. Fri, sat ,sun, and tues there are two!!

It surprises me that the best days website would pick Epcot as the park to avoid. Usually on ANY holiday the MK is the park to avoid IMO. I was going to say Epcot would be your best choice because it is so spread out it rarely seems crowded to me but I may be wrong.

Epcot is the early entry park that day. I think that's why the best days website said to avoid it. But logic says to avoid MK. Actually the park that best days recommends is AK.

I'm totally lost trying to decide as well...here's my tentative thoughts...

Wed, 25th - MK night EMH (Fingers crossed that they stick with the plan)
Thurs, 26th - MGM
Fri, 27th - MK and possibly a hop (this way we've enjoyed MK before some of the extra crowds)
Sat, 28th - Epcot
Sun, 29th - water park
Mon, 30th - Universal
Tues, 31st - AK/hop wherever we choose
Wed, 1st - go home :guilty:

I am so glad to have the long hours, but so confused about when to go where!!! :confused3
Oh well, we'll be at WDW!!!!!! :cheer2:

We'll be following dizagain's plan - sort of.
We're spending the weekend at the Royal Pacific Resort to get FOTL access to the US/IOA parks over the weekend (thru Monday), and then we'll be moving to WDW on Monday and swimming at the pool or doing DD. I'm a little chicken to do any park on Monday. :guilty: We'll get enough of the crowds the rest of the week. :rolleyes2 ;) If I had to pick, I'd say AK or Epcot too.

Hi!

Well here is my itinerary:
5/26 Animal Kingdom
5/27 Magic Kingdom
5/28 MGM
5/29 Epcot Center
5/30 Blizzard Beach/Princess Tea Party/Ohana Rest
5/31 Magic Kingdom
6/01 Universal Studios
6/02 Epcot or favorite park

We are doing AK but disneymom71's plan of a water park is probably great too.

Yep...I'm still thinking of doing a waterpark on Monday and Universal on Sunday...what to do, what to do..... :confused3

Dizagain I hope you don't think were following you :) but it looks like were going to be doing the same thing. Now if only time would fly so we could get there!

Actually, last May we had tickets to the first E-night of the season on Memorial Day. We went to MGM in the morning and it was fairly crowded. Then about 4pm, we went to MK. There was almost no one there. We had a front of the line pass and almost didn't need it because there were no lines! We were shocked and the CMs said it had been that way all day. They said people who have Memorial Day off are usually traveling home that day. To make things better, they had only sold about 20% of available E-tickets for that night! What fun we had.

I assumed the water parks would be crowded with locals as well. That's why I had picked Epcot.

Has anybody been to Epcot on Memorial Day?

I was wondering about a water park on sunday 29th, thought of blizzard beach, thinking that most people would head for typhoon lagoon because of the new ride but, all the books I have read say to avoid water parks on the weekend so I am now very confused :confused3
Has anyone been to the water parks on big weekends, ie memorial or labor etc, is there a real difference in crowds??????

thanks :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

:confused3 I don't know....but in our case we are going during the morning to the Water Park and then have dinner at Ohana maybe after that we can go to MK until they closed the park....but I don't want to have the same experience when I had the chance to go during Thanksgiving day!!! It was all crowded Epcot and MK....
