Hiya

Altho I've been to DLP now 7 times; it has suddenly occurred to me that I only ever do the organised meet and greets down Main Street.

Which other organised meet and greets would people recommend for spotting characters such as Baloo, King Louis or any of the other characters not seen frequently??

Also where else have people seen random character meets??

Thanks:thumbsup2

The only organised meet-and-greet I've ever done is Winnie the Pooh. Other characters we've come across at a character meal. I've seen Baloo there, and also Scrooge McDuck, Prince John, Captain Hook etc.

Best random meet ever was probably Darth Vader outside the Star Tours ride. He was absolutely amazing and is crowd interaction was fantastic. Another good one was Tigger, he had just come off Minnie's Party Train and skipped over to us. He was immediately swamped by kids, but stayed with my son until I was able to get a photo.

We've also bumped into Goofy and Pooh, both dressed in Christmas outfits.

Best random meet we had was just by Colonel Hathi's Pizza Outpost where we bumped into Balloo - he was fabulous! Another was Alice just near the labyrinth. Oh, and Peter Pan and Wendy near Peter Pan's flight.

We don't tend to do so called organised meet & greets so much. Much prefer the surprise element of bumping into random characters. This is one area I feel that DLP let's itself down a bit as when I went to Florida, there were so many characters out and about every day.

Not so much organized, but we always catch the Magical Moments at the DLH (if memory serves, it's Thursday-Sunday at 4)...we've seen several good characters there (Mr. Penguin, Genie, etc)...or perhaps check the DLH in the morning for their characters...though we've never met anyone rare there, have seen photos of others who have. :)

Hunting down characters (especially rare ones, or ones you don't get to see in the US parks) is what we like most of all. ;)

Going back many years, there used to be loads of characters milling about Town Square every morning and in Fantasyland. Sadly they don't seem to do that much now.

We usually get our character fix at breakfast each day in the hotel lobby. DLH is best for this, just outside the restaurants, but HNY is the quietest.

We came across some organised meets previously in Adventureland with Baloo/Rafiki/King Louie and also Aladdin and Jasmine.

Oh, I nearly forgot - love, love, loved Woody's Roundup!! So many characters in a controlled organised way - it was fantastic. Please bring this back :goodvibes

This Woody's Roundup...is this something they did where they had Santa? We never made it back over that way on our last trip and don't know what they do back there when not set up for Christmas...is there any sort of meet and greet back there now, or is it empty?

Is Toy Story playland pretty much the only place to meet Woody and Jessie now?

Oooh! We're there from Wednesday thru to Sunday - so perfect!:cool1: We're doing the Sunday Brunch on our last day so perfect way to finish off our DLP holiday! Thanks:thumbsup2

Me too! As much as I love the attractions being able to escape via the characters into the world of Disney is the perfect thing for respite from a stressful world!:goodvibes

Was Baloo at the Winnie the Pooh greeting area on Main Street or was he at a character meal?? Thanks:thumbsup2

It was a great set up. You went into the first part and met Goofy/Pluto - then Mickey and Minnie. And then outside Woody and sometimes Jessie. We've seen Donald there too once. There was an area with Toy Story 2 memorabilia and a Bullseye horse for the kids to sit on. Also a Stinky Pete model.

I believe that for Christmas season it was always turned into Santa's grotto - but i've never seen that.

Last year it was all removed for a temporary Meet Mickey area, until the new one in Fantasyland was ready.

As far as I know, it is sitting empty - I might be wrong but i've not heard anyone mention it for ages. :sad2:

Wow! Never knew that about HNY being the quietest meet and greet - thanks:thumbsup2

Where in Adventureland did you meet Baloo/Rafiki and King Louie?? Thanks:thumbsup2

Sorry, missed your last one :rotfl2:

I think it was near Colonel Hahitis (sp) I recall a small seating area with Bongo Drums beside it. I think it's included in my trip report from July 2011.

Just checked - it's on day 4 of my 2011 trip - outside Hakuna Matata :thumbsup2

Also noticed that we bumped into him at the Studios that day too - a random meet I think :)

Off to check out your trip report. DH is desperate to eat at Hakuna Matata so will definitely check out the organised meet and greet there and I want to eat at Colonel Hathi's so hopefully we might track Baloo down near one of the restaurants! Thanks:thumbsup2
