Best order in pizza delivery?

We were there in March, and really liked the pizza from Giordano's - Chicago style deep dish, which was unlike anything we can get at home.

+ 1 Giordano's. No one else is even close to being as good. Like the scale drops from #1 straight to #8...

+2 Giordano's... if only to have it delivered via AIR!!

We called Flippers on 2 July who told us, "we can't deliver to you." We reiterated that they were one of the top two recommendations we'd heard about, and again we were told no delivery. The order was simple, four large pizzas; we were staying at VWL; and it was early evening around 6:30. The response wasn't, "we're busy but can be there in an hour or more," but a plainly stated inability or lack of desire to fill our order. Ergo, I can't recommend them. ;)

I've eaten from Giordano's at least 6-7 times over the past several years and have enjoyed a great chicago style deep dish from them every time. I highly recommend their pizzas to my friends.

I've tried Flippers twice and was extremely disappointed with both the pizza and the service. Maybe I happened to visit them on a couple of bad nights, but I'm not willing to give them a third chance.

And we absolutely hated it. Worst pizza I've ever eaten. Different strokes for different folks I guess:confused3.

It was horrid. Crust underdone and doughy. Gravy was like plain tomato paste with no flavor at all. Cheese was utterly flavorless. We threw it out without even finishing a small slice each. Horrid.

Giordano's was at one time, the "best" deep dish pizza, we loved it, got it delivered every trip! But in the last couple of years, we skipt it, exactly for the reasons above. Raw, cold in the middle, even after waiting for an hour and that was eat in! It's gone down hill IMO! And the thin, frozen, grocery store pizza is better!

Giordano's was bought out of bankruptcy back in 2011. Even here locally in Chicago, I feel the quality has suffered - they're not what they once were.

Giordanos. We had it in December and did t have any issues. Wish we could get real deep dish in mn somewhere.

Of agree. I happened to go to a Giordano's near Chicago earlier this year, and I went to the Universal area-one on my way out this July.

The crust doesn't seem quite as buttery as I remembered, and it almost seems they have faster bake times now...but I never thought Giordanos got as doughy as a local pizzeria I also enjoy.

The Universal Giordano's had a ton of employees during my late lunch. I guess they still do a very good business for dinner.

How about for thin crust pizza delivery? We don't like thick crust. Deep dish sounds like a thick crust.

Giordano's also sells thin crust. And just to clarify, Giordano's doesn't make deep dish pizza; their "thick" pizza is stuffed, and there's a difference.

if you'll have a full kitchen (best in an oven), try Dr Oetker Ristorante frozen pizza - they are the only frozen food, let alone pizza, i would ever consider eating (for regular pizza, there is only one pizzeria of the gazillion locally that we would order from, but they don't make these sort of specialty pizzas).

my favorite DO is the Quattro Formaggi with thin-crust (almost flat-bread) topped with blue cheese, mozzarella, Edam, Emmental - :lovestruc
the spinach one with sun-ripened tomatoes, spinach, mozzarella and garlic sauce is yummy too.

great, now i'm hungry

Thanks! We stay in studios but I will keep it in mind for future reference if I ever have enough points to book larger units.
