Hi
2 adults arriving at MCO and going to the Dolphin resort at Disney. 11/26/21-11/28/21.
Looking for round trip. No need for grocery stop and just 2 small bags.

Do most people use Uber/Lyft? Are they reliable, especially on return trip?
Taxis?
Car service?

looking for any input or personal experiences- thanks so much!

If your trip is not until 2022, Mears (the operator of DME) will be operating a similar paid service to all resorts in the area, starting 01/01/2022. The introductory pricing is $16 per person, each way.

Mears Connect

We've used Uber for the past several years to and from MCO and WDW, as well as MCO & Universal. Use them on occasion to get from point A to point B while staying at WDW, too....and have used them to get from Universal to WDW! They are plentiful and dependable. And super convenient.

How much is an Uber round about pricing? Form mco to dolphin
It depends on when you're traveling, due to surge pricing (might be more expensive when there's a lot of demand). I use the RideGuru app to check fares from home at the approximate time of day and day of the week that I expect to need them. For instance, I expected to arrive at MCO at 11:00 AM on a Wednesday, so I checked at home at 11:00 AM on several Wednesdays to see whether it varied very much. The app shows fares for Uber, Lyft and taxis, including the different levels/sizes of vehicles.

As recommended by a pp, if your trip is in 2022 or beyond, I would also recommend the new Mears Connect service.. This will be the most cost effective way to get from MCO to any WDW area resort in 2022 and beyond..

Otherwise, you could of course also request an Uber/Lyft/taxi upon arrival..

If you are going to use Uber/Lyft you might want to look into booking your ride ahead of time, especially for the return trip back to the airport.

We used Uber a few years ago to get from MCO to Swan and then back again. At that time it was around $35 each way. But we were traveling during off-peak times. As others have mentioned, if you are traveling during peak times, you could get hit with surge pricing and at that point it would be cheaper to have hired a car service.

I'll be very interested to see how Mears implements their Mears Connect program for WDW resorts. Will the check-in and loading process be roughly the same as it is now? Will they limit the passengers to only WDW hotels? Or will it now include hotels that are close by too? I'm cautiously optimistic about this service and I really hope it works out well.

Getting nervous.
We actually arrive at MCO this Friday morning at 9:15am and have a return flight booked for Sunday at 8:55 pm.
Still advise Uber, or car service?
