Thanks for all your help. I think I'm going to go with mpix, but am also considering scrapbook pictures. My hubby thinks I'm nuts to print out 415 pictures, but I really want a hard copy of each
The metallic prints have a subtle sheen to them. I LOVE to use them for water pictures--it reflects light like the sun reflecting off the water & brings it to life. I also use them for floral images--again, the just have an inner shine to them--like flower petals. I think it gives a depth to the images that you don't get with matte or plain glossy paper.
I hope that makes some sense! If you are ordering from them anyway, I would recommend adding one print in the metallic finish just to compare.

I'd print all 415 too!!! I'm just crazy like that when it comes to photos!!! Did you check out their forum? It seems that everyone likes the proof books too. That may be a good way to get a hard copy of all, and then reprint the ones you want to frame.
I would get them on metallic paper. I print all my photos that way, even the B&W pics. They just have this amazing quality about them. I would look inot the proofbooks that MPix offers. I am getting one to use as a portfolio book so I can get more weddings booked.
doing a price comparison for MPix and scrapbookpictures, it looks like scapbook is the mroe exepensive of the two. alos it doesn't say whether you can have the color correction turned off cuz I do all my pic to the colors I want and don't want them touched. I do like the idea of being able to print something on the back of the photo though.

I'm not sure how you're figuring that MPix is cheaper ...
For a 4x6, MPix is .29; Scrapbook Pictures is .25
5x7 - MPix is .99; S.P. is .75
8x8, 8x10 - MPix is 1.99; S.P.'s price is also 1.99
The larger prices are the same 'til you get to something really large like 16x20; then MPix does get cheaper.
The metallic prints are cheaper at Scrapbook Pictures, too.
MPix's shipping is a bit more, too, and if you order anything larger than 4x6, you must use Priority Mail or FedEx. Scrapbook Pictures is always $2.00, no matter what.

I know it's not the site you were asking about, but I love Shutterfly and have used them for years. I know you can turn the color correction off there (because I've also edited all my pics), and you can also print on the back of the photo. It defaults to the file name (which is great because I list the event, date, etc. as part of my file name) but you can over-ride each picture if you like. I think it's limited to 80 characters. I ruled out a lot of other sites because they didn't print the file name on the back of the photo.
2 years ago, I sent the same image to snapfish, kodakgallery, and shutterfly. The shutterfly was absolutely horrible. Kodakgallery was my favorite but snapfish has won out in this household for price. I registered at dotphoto because I think you could get 50 free photos. But be forewarned you have a month to use it. I forgot and could just kick myself.
