Hubby is looking foward to enjoying a hearty and tasty steak at WDW and I was wondering... what on-property restaurant(s) do you like best for steak? Not a park restaurant, but one at a hotel or Disney Village?

Thanks for sharing your recommendations! :goodvibes

The Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club is a favorite of ours, they hand cut their steaks daily.

The california grill has excellent filet! I've had it there twice. I asked the sever and it was usda prime.

Sounds wonderful! Thanks everyone! :thumbsup2

Another vote for Yachtsman, DH still raves about the porterhouse he had there last summer. He didn't leave a thing on his plate bar the bone and he doesn't usually eat much. The tomato salad he still goes on about now. I have never seen him so excited about food!

This thread has really intrigued me. I had always assumed that Shula's was amongst the finest steaks in FL based on reading elsewhere, yet in this thread, all the votes seem to be for Yachtsman.

I must admit that I am DVC and had never even heard of Yachtsman but we've never made it over to BCV either.

I kinda have the same question as the OP except that I will add that Ruth's Chris is my chain standard. Their filet, strip and fries are almost worth killing over. LOL

I'd personally love to hear why Yachtsman seems to be so much more preferred than Shula's. Anybody eaten at both? Also, how do they compare, price-wise? Are they both on the dining plan (never used it but considering it for next trip)?

I was raised on a beef cattle farm folks and I'm a steak LOVER. I'm going to one or the other in Dec (next trip). Which one am I going to? Or somewhere else?

We LOVE Yachtsman. We ate there the night we got engaged:love:

We had a TERRIBLE experience service-wise at Shula's We had to wait over an hour past our reservation time and then waited a LONG time to be served. we weren't eating 'till close to 11 PM. We were exhausted after a day in the parks and could barely eat at that point. It really colored or view of the food.

We love the Yachtsman too. We ate at Shulas once and had to wait a long time for our food. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food at Yachtsman so much better.

Yachtsmans is "low grade dog food" compared to Shula's (quote from Caddyshack). Just a joke folks.

Many love Yachtsmans but IMO Shula's is a first class restaurant, Yachtsmans is a nice Disney restaurant.
