Any advice on what off-site is the best deal. We are arriving on a Sat but our package starts on Sunday. Looking for a nice hotel with queen beds. Where have you stayed?

We have stayed on I Drive at the Doubletree Castle twice, it's not bad, a little gaudy, comfy beds. For less money (but full sized beds) we booked a room only at AS Sports with the AAA discount for something like $70 and were fine, actually had a great location next to the main building, then got up early hte next morning and checked in at the Yacht Club. We have also stayed at the Doubletree at the entrance to Universal and it was clean, decent beds and a large room for <$100 AAA

I have ready great things about Caribe Royale. Special rates are posted on Mousesavers.com.

We stayed for a short stay in 05/2006 at the Knights Inn in West Maingate. We were worried at first site but it turned out to be very clean with 2 queen beds. Was so close to many resurants we walked rather than drove to eat every night. Staff was friendly and helpful. Not fancy but very clean, quite, comfortable with a pool and in room fridge. We have stayed on site since then but would stay there agian if needed. It was under $40 a night. and offered free shuttle to all the parks. 8/10:thumbsup2

i have a code from mousesavers for celebration hotel for Sat night before we check into the YC - $89 a night :woohoo:

Keep you eye on travelzoo.com. We were able to snag the Doubletree Castle for 49$ for the night before our package begins, and from what I understand they run that special often.

Buena Vista Suites. We stayed there twice (the most recent time was in Feb.-we arrived a day earlier than expected because we left home a day early due to an impending snowstorm). Great hotel, clean rooms, great staff and tasty FREE hot breakfast!

We always drive in and stay at a Courtyard in downtown Orlando the night before. We have a Marriott Rewards Visa, so we use points for free rooms! (Seriously, best idea my husband ever had)

I stayed at the country inns and suites in lake buena vista last time for one night. Free breakfast in morning, free cookies when you check in, free internet and it is very close to disney marketplace, free frig. I got a good rate on travelzoo.com. If price matters, a lot of people stay at comfort inn in lake buena vista. I have stayed here also but now prefer the country inn.

We are planning on staying there in July. We will probably arrive around 8 or 9 at night on a Friday and I don't want to use weekend points for a late arrival. I have read/heard good things about Buena Vista Suites. :thumbsup2

We are also arriving on Sat night (10 pm) and have a room booked at Buena Vista Suites for 88 - $100 with tax or we have a reservation for ASMovies - $106 including tax, so now we just need to decide which one....any suggestions.

Loved the brand new Holiday Inn on Hotel Plaza blvd. Nice big rooms, queen beds and really close to DTD and Crossroads shopping plaza. I think their rates are about $120/night plus another $10/night for parking if you have a car.

If you're moving to an onsite hotel on Sunday, I would go w/ ASMo personally. You are getting in too late to enjoy any amentites at BVS. Plus, ASMo will move your luggage over to your new hotel for you.

I'd recommend using Priceline or Hotwire. I was able to stay at the Springhill Suites just south of I-4 for $40 on December 26th.

We fly in late on a Friday usually. I like to Hotwire a hotel at the airport for that first night. Several times I have gotten the Hyatt in MCO or the Renaissance for about $60. Both are 4 star.

We are coming in next Friday 4/16 and I just got the Renaissance for Friday night for $62 ($75 with tax).
