Best non-preferred rooms at Caribbean Beach?

We're going Dec 11-18th and never stayed at CB before, and just wonder what room or building should we request? Not preferred, NOT pirate, just close to the action?

I stayed there once in late November, early December 2000 and I was in Aruba 52.

It was a nice walk to the bus stop and a nice walk over to the main building.

I don't know if they still do it, but on the path over from Aruba to the main building over the water, they were playing christmas songs with the characters singing, but they were all done in Calypso style. It was really cool.

We stayed in Jamaica building #45... wonderful location... we were in a corner room with a view of the lake and the bridge that goes over to the main pool, pool bar, and main building (with gift shop, food services, etc.). Short and pleasant walk.

We arrived early in the day around 11am. Our assigned room was VERY FAR AWAY in Barbados. I asked for a room closer to the main pool in Martinique or Jamaica and said we were willing to wait to get into the room... we were headed to the parks right away and would not be back until evening. Thankfully, we got that great room in Jamaica.

However.... if I return to Caribbean Beach Resort... I will pay for and reserve a preferred room to be closer and not take the chance of being far away.

I don't mind walking.... but some non-preferred rooms are very far away from Old Port Royale. While all buildings are close to a bus stop and a quiet pool... Old Port Royale's pool is very nice and the pool bar is great too. I don't want to have to get out of the pool and take the shuttle bus back to my room.... or walk forever.

I like Aruba 51 and 52. they are close to the bus stop and directly aross the lake from the main building and it is a nice walk across the bridge/islands.

Buidling 51 is in Aruba - not Jamaica. However, Aruba 51 is a very good location, as is Jamiaca 45. Those are probably your 2 best non-preferred locations. Jamaica 44 & 46 and Aruba 52 are also very good.

Thanks. I just fixed my post..... We were in building 45 in Jamaica right near the bridge. I remember asking for #45 or 51 when I was checking in.

And here I am... with a reservation for Pop.... thinking about switching to Caribbean Beach! I like trying different resorts... but the pool at CBR has a great theme. DS6 loved the slides and at night, it looks very nice... DS pretended we were looking for pirates in the Caribbean fortress (... pool).

I will give another vote for Jamaica 45. We were there at the end of October and loved that location.

We were in Jamaica 42 i think. It was right next to the quiet pool, and on the lake path opposite beach, close to bus stop and a short walk down to the bridge over to food court, main pool etc. Love those beach hammocks!

We have stayed in this exact building. It is a great location

Thanks for the replies! One last question, do we request this at check in or before? I've only stayed at ASSports before and paid for the preferred, so not sure the proper way to do it. Thanks!

If you want to be in a specific location, I would make the request now to better your chances of having that request granted. Have fun

Both. (1) Call the reservations line and ask them to add the request but be specific about what words. Then call back and check on it.... Twice I made a room request, called back and found out the request wasn't showing. (2) When you check in, ask right away what room you are assigned and ask to change if it's not what you want. I was assigned a room that didn't match my request but it was ready... When I asked at check-in, they assigned me a room I wanted but it would not be ready until later... which was fine... we didn't need to get into a room right away.. we had our day bag and were headed straight to the parks.

My request was "Close to Port Royale" but was assigned a room in Barbados... because...I think... we checked in early (around 11am or so) and they assigned us a room that was ready. It might be better to list actual building #s in the request like "Building 45, 51, or 24. But if my goal was just to be close to Old Port Royale, next time I'll just book a preferred location room.

I just booked a preferred room at Pop Century for the same reason. Some of the regular rooms would be just fine for us.... but there are some locations (80s and 90s buildings) that are just too far. I don't want to take a chance. Since it might be cold, I don't want to risk shivering on the walk back from the pool and the short walk is nice coming back after a long night.
