Best non-park restaurant that doesn't require reservations?

My family just decided last weekend that we would spend fall break in WDW - Oct. 31-Nov. 3rd!!! but because this was such a last minute decision I'm afraid that we can't get reservations at any of the major restaurants for that Friday night, Oct. 31st. We would prefer not to go into the parks so that we don't have to use a ticket since we will be driving down that day, so I was just curious if anyone had any suggestions about where would be good to eat without needing reservations outside of the parks?? Any advice would be much appreciated!!!

Nice to see a fellow CLEMSON fan on the board. I'll be there the same weekend with my 2 grown daughters. Depends on where you are staying. We will be at the Beach Club so we are eating Fri night at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. Are you on the dining plan? It takes 2 credits. I would also suggest Beaches and Cream, Whispering Canyon Cafe, and Boma. Hope this helps.

ESPN Club is a restaurant in the Boardwalk area that does not take reservations. I have never been there but it is basic pub food (burgers, sandwiches, wings, salads, etc.). I believe Big River Grille (also by Boardwalk) does not take reservations either. Also has basic pub fare, and lots of different beers. I have never been there, but we are considering it for our next trip since we will be staying at BWV and it is right there. I would go with one of these since they do not accept ADRs.

If you are not particular about eating in a TS place, Pop Century has a good food court with lots of choices. We ate lunch there one afternoon (when we arrived, since we were staying there), and it was very good. I had a Mediterranean chicken flatbread, and DH had the philly cheesesteak wrap. Lots of other choices too. Plenty for the kids as well. Did not have any other CS food on our trip other than at the parks though.

Did you try the Kona Cafe? They don't seem as busy as some of the other TS resturants. You might want to call and try. Kona has great food and leave room for the desert! YUM!

thanks for the advice everyone...we have never eaten at kona cafe so maybe I will call there and see if they have any openings!

You could also try a DTD spot - I have walked into Raglan Road, Wolfgang Puck Cafe, House of Blues, Planet Hollywood, and Bongos without much wait on a busy evening.

Might be worth a shot since there are lots of places in one spot to check with.

Last time we were there we had the opportunity of dining at "The Wave", in the Contemporary Resort. It is a *very* good restaurant, quiet, excellent food and service, etc. (and the prices reflect that!!). Our waiter told us that, as it is new and not very well known, it wasn't very visited (that could have changed, of course).

Hope this helps...

Regards,

Luis

Kona Cafe is great, and another one that seems to always be empty is the new one at the Contemporary... The Wave. We loved the food there, and you can probably get an actual reservation (maybe at Kona too) Call Dis reservations.

We have been able to walk into Wolfgang Pucks twice and a Portobellos as well!

Hey!
I'm a Clemson grad, too! :thumbsup2
It's fun to see others on here. :)

Sounds like other posters have given you great advice - have a fun trip!
