First, I like to say, that I did post this question on the cruiseline board, and got absolutely no response! So, I thought, since DVC members have been so helpful to me in the past, maybe some of you have been on the Disney cruise and can help. I am trying to pick the best Nassau excursion.
Anyone have any thoughts on the best Nassau excursion? We love the beach and to swim, but we will have a 3 1/2 year old and a 7 year old. Some of the "beach" excursion say moderate activity level and have 15 - 20 minutes of walking. I'm not sure if my 3 1/2 year old can do the walking or I can roll my stroller over the beach. Any opinions? Anybody go to the public beaches or have any other suggestions?
Thanks!

We did the Adrasta Gardens excursion last Dec....while we enjoyed the "famous" dancing flamingos - yes, I did do the dance:banana: , the rest of zoo was a snooze. Still beat up from tropical storms.

we never did get to leave our bus @ & tour Ft. Fincastle because the guide said all the vendors had left for the day:confused3 , did get to tour the "hood" as driver so eloquently put it...DS still creeped out by the squalor, so depressing & sad to think of their living conditions just over the hill.

We're shooting for Atlantis next cruise. Probably will just grab our own jitney & pay to tour aquarium. You can get a day room @ Comfort Inn on Paradise Island and get up to 4 wristbands to use their pool/waterslides, etc.

BTW, highly recommend the Stingray experience @ CC:thumbsup2
Good luck.

If they still offer it, try the "Blue Lagoon" excursion... :thumbsup2

DW and I did it on our 1 year anniversery... You get taken on a large pontoon boat out to a private island... Get fed from an AYCE BBQ, have the option to swim on the beach, lay in a hammock, or for extra $$$ frolic with dolphins..

We went to Atlantis. The beach was beautiful and the casino was fun. But, the walk to the beach seemed to take forever.

Thanks for the responses! Please keep them coming!
I don't think they offer the Blue Lagoon anymore. I haven't found it on the website or in the excursion information I was sent. Someone thought it may have been hit by a hurricane. That would have been perfect!
Can I ask a question about Atlantis? Why would the beach walk be so long? Do you drop you off right at the Atlantis and it is so huge it takes forever? Can we take a stroller with us? Would be do better getting private transperation?
Has anybody rented a room at the Comfort Inn to take advantage of the beaches?

We took a cab over to the Atlantis to use the beach there-the beach was beautiful-I'd say by the time you walk through the hotel and through the grounds to get to the beach it was about 10 minutes? If you have an umbrella stroller to use til you get to the beach it shouldn't be so bad. Renting chairs or an umbrella will be VERY expensive-not to mention drinks and food-I think for three of us we ended up spending 50.00 for hamburgers and a drink-and this was a few years ago. On a cheerier note you will LOVE the cruise and Castaway Cay! It was a wonderful trip! Hoping to do the 7 day cruise one of these days! Also, the Passporter Cruise book might be helpful? Our library has the 2006 edition. It lists all the tours, I believe. :)
