Hello Friends!

My family leaves for Orlando on Friday night! Woot Woot!

We are doing a day at EPCOT and MK on Sunday March 1st before our cruise leaves Monday. Wife only will allow 1 day, so that is why we are doing two major parks together. We will rope drop EPCOT on Sunday morning, and then head over to MK in time for the Festival of Fantasy parade. After that our FastPasses kick in all afternoon for Peter Pan, Space, SDMT, and then a BOG res at 7. Wishes and MSEP following.

Now that is a long day for anybody. However - it will be especially long for our 9 month old. We are doing a stroller so he can do some in park naps. We are staying off site, so running back to the room isn't really an option.

Outside of the baby care centers... What are the best places to nap? The afternoon itinerary keeps us mostly in Fantasy/Tomorrowland in the afternoon when I bet a good nap will be needed.

I would love to hear you guy's thoughts and ideas!

The best place we found for a stroller nap was behind the Christmas store in Liberty Square. There are some shaded benches facing Tiana's meet and greet.

In Tomorrowland, there is a quiet spot just beyond buzz light-year's ride. The people mover is also good. I've heard some people say that if it's not crowded, they will let sleeping babies continue writing a couple of times through.

In the back of storybook circus by the fast pass kiosk, there some tables with umbrellas.

You can also leave the park and just ride the resort monorail and over and over for naptime.

Good places for a nap or easier to come by and Epcot. There's lots of shaded benches in quiet nooks.

Honestly, all world showcase is probably quiet enough that you could walk the countries and visit some of the stores all the little sleeps.

You can also leave the park and hop on the boat between Epcot and Hollywood studios. That's noisier than the monorail, though. Instead, you could just take that opportunity to ride the monorail to MK.

Enjoy!

I hadn't thought about our trip from EPCOT to MK on the monorail being relaxing for him. Very encouraging.

In Epcot there is a nice little area in Morocco that is inside so it's nice and cool and not many people wander through. It is between the shops and the museum, sort of across from the CS restaurant. In Japan there is a nice little garden and the same thing in China and sort of one in Canada although I don't remember much shade in Canada. At MK there are all sorts of little nooks and crannies, there is a kind of hidden walk way between future world and the new fantasy land that not many people use although beware it is a smokers designated area. When you come into MK and go a little past the first block of stores there is a little alley that very few people use.

While agree that most 9 month olds will fall asleep in the stroller anywhere I do know that some kids will be star led awake by noises and a quiet place is a good idea. There is a pathway behind space mountain that connects over to fantasyland train station. It is a nice little walkway with some benches. It is very quiet and no many people use this walkway. There is a smoking area along the path but I have never seen anyone at it. Perhaps it is just luck.

I think this is an ideal area in MK for the baby to get a snooze and for you and your wife to recharge. Just never paid any attention to if the train is terribly loud when it goes by. All I remember was quiet away from the crowds.

Hall of presidents (MK) and American Experience (Epcot). Unpatriotic maybe, but air conditioned and dark definitely ;)

The Hall of Presidents at MK and The American Adventure at Epcot are the two places my family relies on for a nap if we need one. Also, the Carousel of Progress. All of these are fairly long, quiet, and dark shows.

Don't get me wrong here, I love all three of these shows, but they can also serve a dual purpose.

I'm pretty sure they will let you just stay on the People Mover, so you could nap there for however long you wanted. It's very relaxing. Maybe you'll get lucky and it will break down inside Space Mountain.

I am thinking the same thing when we go in January and our daughter will be 14 months. We are staying on site at either the contemporary or Polynesian. May be worth it to go back to the room for a quick siesta since I will be doing the marathon in the morning. How crowded will it be after the marathon.

When our youngest was 9mo old I wore him all over DW and he slept everywhere and I still got to ride! Love the Ergo. Even had a little hood thing to put up if he was too distracted to fall asleep.
I've gotten older kids to nap in the stroller, mainly, if I just kept moving. I find the entrance area of EPCOT very quiet as the day goes on. Plenty of benches for me to rest on while one of my kids snoozed away in teh stroller. MK is harder, busier and more compact. I like the little walkway from tomorrowland to fantasyland that someone else mentioned.

MK in the Tomorrowland area kind of between Buzz and Space Mountain. There are decent areas around Carousel of Progress with seating... actually, the fist time I ever fell asleep in the parks was while ON Carousel of Progress. :)

We never had one that young, but our son was 3 on our first trip, and he zonked in the stroller wherever and whenever it was needed. I think my 7 year old daughter at the time even did it once during the day, stealing the stroller for a quick snooze.

Keep in mind that any grassy area in Epcot not guarded by a fence can be slept on. It's an option if the adults need a nap too. The grass by Mission:Space is especially snooze worthy :thumbsup2
