My husband and I are going to see Pirate Radio. It opens tomorrow and I've been waiting for this one for quite awhile. In England, it goes by the title, The Boat That Rocked. Not sure why the title was changed for the US.
Pirate Radio is a comedy and is based on the illegal (pirate) radio stations that broadcasted from ships anchored off the coast of Great Britian in the 1960s. The movie is about a crew of DJs playing rock and roll, much to the satisfaction and enjoyment of England's youth, while the British government tries to stop the stations from broadcasting that "evil" music.
Pirate Radio is from the same creator (writer/producer, I think) of Love Actually, one of my favorite movies.
The trailers have looked really good, so I hope the movie doesn't disappoint!
The only movie I can think of off hand that I can not wait to see is 2012..I love those end of days movies lol..besides that my girls are counting down until New Moon which isn't even out until the 20th I think..I told them to stop harassing me lol...
Hmm, maybe I can convince DF that we should hit the movies tomm for 2012 while the girls are in school lol..
Pirate Radio looks like a riot and since I love disaster movies I'm game for 2012 (as for New Moon I'll wait till the series loving sister sees it before I do).
Roland Emmerich's films are all the same. Huge budget epics, with most of the film being computer-generated footage of natural disasters and things blowing up or being destroyed, and the rest of the time filled in with shallow characters and ludicrous plots that barely to tack the whole mess together. Need proof? His previous films:
Stargate
Independence Day
Godzilla
The Day After Tomorrow
10,000 B.C.

We're going to see 2012 in the morning. I think it looks rather ridiculous, but I do like a couple of Roland Emmerich's previous endeavours (Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow). I've also been interested in 2012 and/or the end of the world for almost my whole life.

I gotta say I have been VERY disappointed in this whole years crop of movies..very few have been worth the time or money IMO. I looked to see what is still to come and still looks like a bunch of crap for the most part *sigh*. I was kinda shocked there wasn't more kid movies too.
Saw 2012 last night. Lived up to the reputation of being one of those end of the world disaster movies. We enjoyed it as we like that sort of movie. It was long, and the disasters kept on happening but the story line was romantic and that is all I will say. If you like this sort of movie, you will like it and will have you at the edge of your seat at times.
