Best/Most fun Non-Character Restaurants for Kids

O'hana is a fun place to eat & the kids would love the coconut races & games.
One that hasn't been mentioned is..San Angel the mexican restaurant at Epcot is really neat also. Is like dining at night under the stars & most kids would think that nifty.
Haven't been to alot of the places but lots of them sound fun!

Sci-Fi's decor and ambiance is great for kids! Typical American Food, good!

Tepan Edo is a Japanese Steakhouse and they put on a good show. Food is really good! My son has been going to the one by our house since he was 4 and now he even eats with chop sticks!

T-Rex in DTD is really fun w/ good food, good for kids, it's loud but not scary at all IMO. I don't know if they are on the DDP though!

Ohana's Luau Buffet is fun, the food IMO is ok but the show makes up for it.

Oop De Do Revue is worth doing at least once, again it's the show, not the food that makes it.

Chef de France, if you're visiting when "Remy" the rat from "Ratatouille" can come to your table would be fun to, there, we just go for the food!!

For picky eaters, it really doesn't matter, Disney has pretty much the same kids meal offering every where.

Hello
I will be visiting WDW with my 5 year old nephew and it will be my first time travelling/doing Disney with a child.

Since it will only be the 2 of us:
1-Do you recommend that we do Ohana, I just think that the amount of food just for one adult will be ALOT!
2-For those of you who recommended Teppan Edo, do you recommend it for a 5 year old?
3-Do you recommend buffets? Will it be hard for me to take care of his plate and my plate at the same time?
4-My nephew only speaks French for the moment, is it completely useless to go to places like Whispering Canyion and 50s Prime Time since he wont be able to interact with the waiters?

Thanks alot for all your help :)

1. I wouldn't worry about the amount of food at 'Ohana. They seem to give you too much no matter what the size of your party. If there is something you know you won't touch, just let your server know. The nice thing is, it is served family style, so you won't have to jump up and down getting food.

2. My DD really enjoyed Teppan Edo at 5. The choices are fairly limited, so I wouln't go if your nephew is extremely picky. If he is happy with shrimp or chicken, noodles/ rice and veggies then I think it might be a good choice as there is "entertainment" but it is more visual and he wouldn't need to know English to enjoy.

3. I suppose this depends on the child. My DD6 would be all right either coming to the buffet with me each time, or staying in her seat (if it was in view of the buffet). Personally, I would try to minimize the buffets though for my own sanity.

4. Never been to Prime Time. He could still participate in most of the activities such as the stick pony racing at WCC, but it might be a bit overwhelming. (They usually sing Happy Birthday, do the Hokey Pokey, holler for ketchup, joke with the tables etc...)

Another vote here for Sci-Fi. DD (4 at the time) loved it! She also liked San Angel (in Mexico/Epcot) a lot. The atmosphere in there is very unique, and you get to watch the boat rides going through!
