hi everyone.

1 day left and i'll be in the happiest place on earth! we can't wait!!! we will be leaving tomorrow morning at 7, and will get into orlando at 10 am. so, tomorrow will be a relatively relaxing day, doing various small things around orlando and WDW (i.e. the boardwalk, etc.--we can save the parks for a full day).

i would like to make some last minute dinner reservations at a really good(not necessarily fancy) orlando or (preferably) WDW restaurant. i'm going to see if california grill has some openings, and i'll check other deluxe hotels' restaurants, as well as the boardwalk and downtown disney areas.

it doesn't need to be fancy at all. i just want to find a nice place where we can get excited about the days to come, and have it be a really fun place!

thanks!

btw great forum. i've been reading for days and have finally signed up! i'm a disney fanatic, and this is paradise for me!

EDIT: I called wdw dine and the friendly cast member told me that basically all of the deluxe hotel restaurants were booked solid. at california grill and some other deluxe restaurant (that began with a K), there was not a single opening for a week!

It depends on your own personal tastes, and who is in your party. I would try the following if I were in your shoes:

* Boma - Animal Kingdom Lodge
* Hoop dee doo Revue - Fort Wilderness
* 50's Prime Time - Studios
* Sci Fi - Studios
* Garden Grill - Epcot
* Whispering Canyon Cafe - Wilderness Lodge

Hope you can get some good ADR's! The CM on the phone should be able to help too!

Yikes..you have no ADR's...good grief...

Well you can try Boma between 5:30 and 6:30 - after that forget it -

Also Cape Mae Cafe between 4:30 and 5:30 - after that no way

Coral Seas is not too bad before 6 - but you will be waiting at least 20 - 40 min...

As far as the other resorts go..Forget Ohana's they were a nut case every night we went ( last week)..

1900 park fare is just plain snobby about walk ins IMHO- but before 5 for that one

Yak and Yeti in the afternoon between 1 and 3

Brown Derby is suprisingly booked solid as is most of the other 2 credit rest ( who knows why)..

the Wilderness cafe has a good buffet and is not too bad as well

Do not bother with Disney dining in advance phone the day or maybe even the hour or so before to try and reserve..

Now as far as after 7pm all we saw was very frustrated people waiting for up to an hour to get in last week...

If you can go off Disney property all of them might be busy but the farther away from both Disney and Universal you get the better the chance and the less busy

Counter Service at Liberty Tree early afternoon is a good bet..

Also we saw lots of empty tables at Hollywood and Vine around 3 to 5 pm

As far as Epcot goes the Marakesh is a good bet in the afternoon..so is the Biergarten...forget Akerhous now that it is a princess meal - especially next week...

As far as off Disney property the farther away from Disney and Universal the better

Best of luck finding things. You are going at a very busy time of year and most people have already made their plans well in advance.

You will probably have to be very flexible as to your times and places to eat.

Your best option might be a sit down lunch instead of dinner. Captains Grille at the Yacht Club is nice.

Let us know how you made out when you get back. Enjoy your trip.

I would agree with pp.
Some you may have a shot at:
Maya Grill
Turf Club
Captain's Grill

Also see if you can walk up to Big River Grille.

You probably will have better luck with the resort restaurants. The park restaurants I doubt you will find anything. But ya never know. Good luck!

Do you just need a place to eat for one meal or ADR's for the whole week? It's not fancy and I've never eaten there, but Beaches and Cream at the YC/BC doesn't take reservations so you could always try that. Where are you staying?
