Best Moderate resort?

CORONADO SPRINGS!!!! Hands down! We stayed the first half of our vacation last week at the Caribbean Beach and needless to say we were very disappointed. The customer service was not very Disney like. DH and I moved to the CSR the day of the hurricane. Very long story!!! But I rally behind the CORONADO SPRINGS all of the way.

Caribbean Beach Resort. My wife and boys loved, and we are staying there again...this time getting 3 rooms there. The housekeeping was excellent, and they catered to our needs. I have also heard good things about Port Orleans, but have never stayed there.

Port Orleans French Quarter is our familys favorite. We haven't stayed at the Csr but we looked at it. It looked very nice when we were there last year. Stayed at Coronado Springs and found the experience to be a complete and total nightmare our room was dirty the entire time and we couldn't get them to do anything till the last night of a 7 night stay. Took forever to get to the resort manager. Also the porters at this resort drive their golf carts exetremely fast through crowds of people my wife got bumped once and the porter didn't even say he was sorry. While we enjoyed the idea of the food court we didn't care for the food plus it was a major hassel getting our drink mugs refilled. Port orleans was so much nicer and house keeping has been first rate both times we have stayed there. Hope this helps

Another vote for POFQ! We LOVE this resort because of its size. Plus, we honeymooned here and thought it was very romantic! We had a king bed, waterview room (right on the corner by the "river"). A short walk to everywhere--pool, food court, store, bus stop, boat launch. We were spoiled! Since there is only one bus stop you are always first on/first off. Granted, you have to wait through 3 more stops at POR but since you are first on you pretty much always have a seat (going--coming back you may not).

We have stayed also at CSR and there are many, many people who love it but we are not them. We did not care for this resort. It is beautiful (especially in the evening) but room and service was not impressive. We did not care for the food court at all and its way too spread out for us. After staying at POFQ, at this resort you just feel like you walk forever. Stayed 3 nights but never got to the pool (rain) so I can't tell you about that. It looked nice from our walks though (kind of far away). We stayed in the Casitas which is closest to the main buildings. According to DH, "we will not stay there again."

But each to his own...choose the theme you like and try it out. If you don't like it, choose a different resort next time. That is the wonderful thing about WDW!! So much to choose from!!

CBR is our place to stay, we love the theme, it's relaxing, love the colors and the layout of the resort. We went last year, stayed at the CBR for the first time..this time we talked about trying something else but not for long ;) CBR it is!!!!

This kind of thread always crack me up because every person has their favorite resorts and you can find people who will say good and not so good things about every resort. I figure that my only goals for me upcoming trip with my DH (sans children!!!) is to go where he wants to go and to a resort that I haven't been before. He's not exactly the biggest Disney fan (he's happy returning every few years) and I want this trip to be fun for him and for him to have input in the places that I can stand input. :teeth:

We've very briefly been to CS and I hope to stay at POFQ when I go alone with my 4yo in December (before I meet my sister and my mom at my mom's off site time share for a week). That leaves CBR and POR. My husband likes the look of CBR so we'll try for there and have the others as back-ups. We'll only be there 3-4 nights, but *maybe* I'll mention splitting our stay, but again, will leave that up to my DH. You have to understand, I'm the decision maker for our family vacations, something that frustrates me and that I also love, so turning over control to my DH takes a lot for me. ;)
