We have never stayed at a mod before and I'm really debating what I want to do for our trip this October. If you're getting sick of all my posts (deciding between WL and mod), I'm sorry;) What can I say ?!?! I want our Disney trip to be perfect!

Anywho, DS will be 4 and DD will be 8 when we go. I always thought CBR would be great. We all love the tropical vibe, but when I started looking at WL I thought about how great it would be to have a nice, quiet, relaxing place to go back to after the parks. Then I started thinking maybe POR or POFQ. But, they don't look very kid friendly to me . . . not sure why, I just don't think they do.

So for those of you with kiddos who have stayed at mods or those without kiddos who have an opinion for me ;) , what do you think? Which mod is the BEST for kids and why?

Our favorite mod is CSR. The first time we went our DS was 6 1/2. He's now 14 and it's still his favorite place to stay in all DW. The pool and slide are great, 2 game rooms, good selection and food at Pepper Market and the bus service is great!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

We've been staying at POR and love it. My kids will be 7 and 4. I like the idea of using 2 different pools (you can use the POFQ too). Plus, it's nice to go down the path by the river on rented bikes and bike around the other resort.
You mentioned WL. I believe that's a Deluxe, but what one may call a lower-end deluxe (i.e. not as costly as say the Poly or GF). We almost stayed there but decide to save our money (by the time I looked, the cost to upgrade would have cost us almost $1000 more! There wasn't much left at WL.)
Wherever you go, the Disney Magic :wizard: will follow, so have a wonderful trip!

CSR! Check out my CSR website below for pics and info.

Great pool/slide and awesome transportation.

We have stayed at Pop, AKL, and CBR and since you are asking about mods I will say that we did not enjoy the layout or the bussing at CBR when we were there in august. The room was beautiful and large compared to Pop. The grounds were gorgeous. The food court was nice, Pop was better. When we stayed at Pop it was $100/night, AKL was $274/ night and CBR was $116/ night with a AAA rate. Our kids were 3 and 5 and the walk to the food court from our room in Jamaica was pretty long for hot weary travelers. After that trip we decided that we would either stay at values or deluxes. It may sound crazy but when you stay at a value you have lower expectations because you're not paying as much. At a deluxe you are splurging and it feels decadent. The mod we stayed at just didn't do it for us. This is of course just my opinion and others will disagree.

CSR and POFQ are our two favorite moderates.

For kids, I would choose CSR.

CBR is rumored to be getting a pool that looks like a pirate ship. It will be open in Sept. I will have a picture later. CBR is a beautiful resort.

If the kids are really young, I would say POFQ. If the kids are over 5, then I would go with CSR.

safetymom - can't wait to see some pics of the pool.

We've done both you listed, WL and POFQ, The WL trip was booked simply because it wasn't that much more $ and it was a deluxe and we could take boat to MK. Alot of fun! POFQ is totally kid friendly, my guys loved the fishin' hole (catch & release) and pools & slide. Food court at POFQ made the morning get out quick too. There is a quick service at WL but not a food court. Go with your gut decision you'll have a ball at either.
