Hello all, I would like to play some mini-golf during my visit. Back home the courses are old torn up and faded. Is there a well-themed and well-maintaned course anyone can recommend. So far my searches have turned up the names of Congo River, Tiki Island Golf, Pirate Cove, and Hawaiin Rumble. Are they pretty much the same. If so I would probably just picked the closest one. Thank you:-)

How about the Disney Min-golf courses- Fantasia Gardens in the Swan/ Dolphin area and Winter/ Summerland at Blizzard Beach. Both very well themed and well kept. Both have two different courses to play. Check it out we play both everytime we visit the World.

Another vote for Fantasia Gardens. I love the Fairways course, which is like an actual golf course, but very challenging. They've recently redone all the greens, so it's not nearly as hard as it once was...

Congo River, on 192 near 535, and the Pirate Cove in Crossroads are both a lot of fun. Well-themed, fairly well-maintained, a good way to spend a couple hours.

If you look in any of the ubiqutous coupon books around town, you should find a a coupon to save a buck or two. They all seem to run around $10.

On property, Winter Summerland is fun as well, although none of the Disney courses seem particularly well-maintained these days.

I can't remember the one we went to, it was right by the outlets, but it was fun. A LOT of stairs though!!

I found the Fantasia Gardens one to be horribe to be honest. But it's been a couple of years since we did that one, so maybe it's been spruced up.

We've played a lot of the mini golf courses in the area. They are all fairly well maintained - they have to be to remain competitive in the market.

The two Disney-owned courses are probably the nicest overall, and there's a bonus that if you play both in the same day, you get a 50% discount on the second one. But the starting price is a little higher than the off-property competition, and you have to play both to get the value.

Most times, I use the ubiquitous coupons and simply play the one that I happen to be closest to. As someone noted, I can usually get in for about $10 a person, though there are a few that offer $5 if you're there early in the day (check those fliers!)

Oh, and a little plug: if you have an iPhone and want to score on the phone instead of the little cards, here's a free app I built: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mini-golf-lite/id422776058?mt=8&ls=1:rolleyes1

We tried the Lake Buena Vista Hawaiian Rumble 2 weeks ago and it was so bad we didn't finish the course! Like an old tiki had fallen down and it was just on the ground, battered. The water had silver and green slime. The actual greens were ok, but the rest was just terrible!
