Best Mickey interactions?

Hi everyone!

We are heading to Disney for a last-minute week-long trip on the 25th with our Mickey-loving 2-year-old. We've been to Disney plenty of times in the past, but never with the specific intent of hunting down The Mouse.

What are your best Mickey park interactions? I'm assuming we'll go see his house and try to find him in the park a few times. Does the Playhouse Disney show involve Mickey now? Does Mickey make any surprise appearances anywhere? Any great spots to do a character meet-and-greet?

Thanks in advance! We're getting psyched up!

I am trying to remember where we have met Mickey in the past. I recall the judge's tent in MK, Character Spot in Epcot and the Disney Visa meet & greet in Epcot. All were good meetings, but I think the Disney Visa one (if you happen to have that card) was probably the longest and it was private...only our family and 2 CMs.

The Judge's tent in Toontown was always really busy when we were there.

Had the best luck at DHS - Sorceror Mickey in the Animation building. Short line and a little bit more time.

Breakfast or Dinner at Chef Mickey's...

But you are cutting it very close for reservations.

sorcerer mickey at DHS is my personal favorite. he tends to be a bit frisky. and he *loves* guests who are shorter than him, particularly adults.

don't forget to ask Mickey to wiggle his nose.

the fab 5 also are able to move their mouths and close their eyes during the stage show at the castle.

Get yourself a Disney VISA and go to the cardholder exclusive meet 'n' greet at Innoventions West in Epcot. It was the best Mickey interaction we had.

We went to Chef Mickey's for dinner but we got Pluto, Goofy, and Donald to our table before we were done eating and our daughter started to get sleepy. (We had late reservations because we're from MST, but the plane ride earlier that day wiped her out.) CM's isn't bad if you can wait for Mickey to come to the table, but you don't get anywhere near the quiet moment with him there that you do at the Disney VISA interaction.

We never made it to the Judge's Tent (the child wanted to ride Barnstormer over and over instead) or found Sorceror Mickey at DHS (didn't get to spend as much time at DHS as we wanted for various reasons) but we did also see Mickey at the Character Spot in Epcot. That meeting was pretty well done too. The wait can be on the longish side but the CS is open later in the evening and I think the lines tend to dwindle more near the end of the day. The CS has some fun photo backgrounds behind the characters, too, but you move from character to character a little faster in there.

Have a great trip!

Yes, I know - I have a dozen pictures that I took of them together at the end of the show. I only got one or two in which none of them are blinking! :confused3 Only at Disney... :rotfl:

I was really pleased with Mickey at Camp Minnie-Mickey in AK and our character breakfast at Ohana's. In fact all of the characters at Ohana were great. Stitch kept coming back to our table. Mickey knelt down and made time for DD (she was 6 mo). Pluto was very playful and the little parade they have was a HUGE hit with DS.

When we went in May, we had the best interaction at Camp Mickey in AK as well. It was kinda misting off and on and not many people around. It might have even been an EMH night.

We are in the same situation as you - last year DD was 7 months and loved the character, this year, she just does not love them, she even knows them by name. Last year we did the DDP and found that the best interaction was at Ohana as I found the characters a bit rushed at Chef Mickeys. Camp Mickey is another place but the line up was huge.

We wew at HS last year for Spring Break. We went to see Sorcerer Mickey at the first time he begins to appear (I think it was 10:00). After we got our pictures we stayed in the Animation building so my boys could play the computer games. At one point no one was waiting to see Sorcerer Mickey and he came over to the computers and played with my son. It was the highlight of his trip!

We met Mickey (and Donald, Pluto and Goofy) at rope drop at Epcot - we were right at the rope, and ds5 got to meet them all - what a great surprise !!

We had good luck on our last trip going to Toontown while SpectroMagic was running. There was NO ONE in the Judge's Tent. We'll be repeating that little trick on our next trip.

My son had a couple of great interaction with Mickey. Tusker House Breakfast Buffet (Mickey dressed in safari outfit). Mickey spend time with my son and Mickey took my son my his hands and gave him a musical instrument and lead him to a musical parade...then after the musical parade came back to the table and danced with my son, signed his autograph book and posted for a couple of pictures. Then in Toontown, it was at night and we were going to take the train from Toontown to leave for the night and my son saw Judge tent and wanted to say goodnight to Mickey...there was no line and Mickey spend more than 10 mins with my son until another family came. Then at HS, it was early so not alot of people on line and we got alot of great picture opportunities.
Hollywood and Vine does not have a Mickey Mouse character meal. Mickey mouse character meals are CM, Garden Grill, Tusker House AK, and Ohana's

When my DD was 2 we were in the baby center I was giving her a snack. Mickey came in. My DD was the only child in there and she got about 10 minutes of playtime with him. I asked and they said that if Mickey has some free time he goes in there but it's very rare. Of course my husband had the camera!

Last year my son (2 yrs at the time) has the best interaction with mickey and minnie at the judges tent in toontown. We walked into the room and once my son saw mickey and minnie he got all excited and ran straight to them, once mickey and minnie saw him running they got down on their knees and gave him tons and hugs and kisses. He was talking up and storm and those two characters just played right along with him, we have some really great pictures thanks to photopass. By far that was the best part of our whole trip.
