We are using the DDP in a few weeks. What CS restaurants are the best? We are using our TS at the 50's Prime Time.

DH and I like the Backlot Express the best....the grilled turkey and cheese sandwich with roasted red peppers is great!

We loved the ABC Commissary. We love Cuban sandwiches and theirs were great. Also the desserts were good there too.

Backlot is the only one for us. We've tried the others.

we're trying Backlot fo rthe first time this yr! wooohoo!!!

but our fave so far is.....Studio Catering Company! Everythign si soooooooo good!! and soo filling!

First of all, avoid Prime Time but I know thats not the question. For CS at MGM, my suggestion is to bring a sandwich.

Just curious - why avoid Prime Time? We have reservations there at the end of the month.

TIA!

We enjoyed the Cuban sandwich and cheeseburger at ABC. It's a nice place to relax and cool off as well!

We are going next week. I don't miss Prime Time - not sure why. Just love it there.
Maybe try Pizza Planet.
We are also trying the new Disney Playhouse Character meal for lunch.

Some people have hit or miss meals at 50s PTC. We have always loved it and are going back in a couple of weeks. You have to enjoy the "flack" you get from the waitstaff and want to play along to really get the most out of the meal. My DH really played it up last time and it made the meal fun. It is almost like "dinner theater".

I like Backlot Express. There is always plenty of room also..never have trouble finding a table.

Personally, I thought the food was below average. But I really really don't like the schtick. "Mom" telling you to clean your plate and all that I find very annoying. Some people like that, I hate it. I would not go back.

I much prefer the Sci-Fi Drive In. Although the food is only OK, the atmosphere there is a lot of fun.

Thanks. I am also not sure if I will like the "schtick." I'm pretty sure my DH will not like it.

My kids will probably love it, since I understand they like to "pick on" the adults. ;) Oh well, we might try it just for the experience. :confused3

We enjoy the pizza/salad combo at Pizza Planet. If you are going at a slow time of year, watch the hours at the Counter Services. If you get hungry in the early evening, you will be out of luck at MGM.

We did not like the ABC commissary - just our opinion but it
was very noisy, crowded and not as clean as it could have been.

The food was not as good as the other CS we had the rest of our trip
and two of us who tried the Veggie Stir Fry - didn't care for it at all,
it was cold and was not that tasty.
