So for those paying out of pocket, talk to me about which meals are generously sized and can be shared at Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios , Animal Kingdom and Port Orleans Riverside Food Court.

IMO most QS meals can easily be shared. At MK Pecos Bills (toppings bar) and Cosmic Rays both have big portions. At AK, Flame Tree BBQ is a good choice.

Depending on your appetite, everything is shareable at Disney... but some things that are particularly large are:

QS:
MK:
Pecos Bills, Fajitas (even large eaters can share this)
Cosmic Rays, 1/2 Rotisserie Chicken

AK:
Flame Tree BBQ: 1/2 chicken, chicken and ribs or chicken, pulled pork and ribs sampler
Satul'i Canteen: people have said the bowls are large enough to share

TS:
MK: Plaza has inexpensive and large sandwiches with fries, with a shake or dessert definitely big enough

HS: 50's Prime Time entrees are MASSIVE

AK: Yak and Yeti, entrees were quite large but also the appetizers are definitely plenty big for a meal... a couple of those and you're still under $30 for 2.

Don't really eat QS at hollywood studios and never been to Port Orleans.

HS - At 50's the fried chicken plate and Mom's sampler.
AK - I find the entrees at Y&Y TS to be huge and they also have "Shareables" on the menu. Tuna Nachos are on my list to try but I might not share!
POR- The make-your-own pasta and salads. Split a sandwich and a side. Fried fish and shrimp platter.

This is where we have shared entrees in recent trips.

Magic Kingdom
QS:
- Pecos Bills: Fajita platter. You can ask for an extra side of tortillas if needed. Any burger when you factor in the toppings bar
- Cosmic Rays: 1/2 chicken. Any burger when you factor in the toppings bar
- Casey's Corner: some of their hot dogs are massive!!! I split a single one with 3 of my kids.
- BOG Breakfast when the pastry platter is factored in
TS:
- Not sure as I haven't eaten at any in a while

EPCOT
QS:
- Sunshine Seasons; porkchop platter, Chinese dishes.
- Electric Umbrella: cheeseburgers
- We've snacked around world showcase during food/wine, flower/garden, holidays and those can often be filling at a fraction of the price of a meal.

TS: We recently shared entrees at...
- Tepan Edo
- Tokyo Dining
- San Angel Inn

Animal Kingdom
QS:
- Flame Tree BBQ: chicken/ribs combo plate

Hollywood Studios
TS:
- Sci-Fi: burgers. If on dining plan one can use the milkshake as a drink the other as a dessert.

agree most can be shared and at QS you can look other people orders and get an idea. Even a cheeseburger is shareable when you compliment your meal with any of the snacks the park offers.

I tend to wait to eat late in the day, so I can put away a QS by myself. I have never shared my Anchors Aweigh, with anyone! So, it depends upon your habits. TS meals are, at least, double a normal portion you'd fix at home. After a big lunch, sharing any dinner keeps me from feeling :crazy2:

My husband and I often share QS meals, sometimes with an extra side, sometimes not. On our last trip, we shared the Ribs, chicken and pulled pork platter at Flame Tree BBQ at Ak, the half chicken with potatoes and green beans at Cosmic Rays in MK, the fajita platter at Pecos Bill's in MK, and the nachos at the Cantina in Mexico at Epcot. I'm not sure where you're staying, but we have split the combo type meals at some of the resort food courts also, the meals where you get chicken or pork with two sides and cornbread or something similar.

I agree that almost all the QS meals are easily shared. I'm not a big meal eater so if I'm eating QS I get a kid's meal. The TS meals are also pretty large and easily shared except for maybe at some of the signature restaurants. I tend to get a soup and appetizer instead of an entre.

I agree with Caseys, Pecos, and Yak and Yeti.
My daughter and I share the roast beef sandwich at BOG lunch. She usually gets soup too, but half of that sandwich is plenty (plus a cupcake:D)

For us it really depends on the time of day and who we would be sharing with.

My SO and DS aren't breakfast eaters so by the time lunch rolls around they are eating an entire meal to themselves. No way are they sharing. DD would usually get a kids meal or be hungry enough to finish an adult meal. So when we go as a family of 4 there is no sharing. We may share snacks so we can try more things but that's about it.

On my next trip it'll just be DD12 and myself. There are some places we plan on sharing. All QS. At TS we will want different things, I'm sure. I'm not big on compromising on food when on vacation or anytime I eat out really. If I want the steak and DD wants the chicken then that's what we will do. We will have a studio with a microwave and fridge so we can reheat it the next day.

Some places I think we will share are: BOG lunch I'm sure we will share one of the sandwiches and most likely get a soup for each of us also. Y&Y in AK we might share the rice and egg rolls. Or Flametree BBQ we can share a platter and just get DD fries to go with it.

I felt like we wasted a LOT of food at Casey's. I know better now. We got 2 footlongs and a regular hot dog and ended up basically tossing most of a footlong. It was SO MUCH FOOD. With the mac and cheese footlong, you basically have mac and cheese, a footlong dog AND a huge tray of fries.

I have a piggyback question. At standard table service restaurants, not on dining plan. (We will be on QS plan, but will pay OOP for 1 TS) Can adults get kids meals? Specifically at Prime Time Diner and/or Sci-Fi Dine In.

We went last summer and had the 1 free quick service meal per person and we we could have easily stretched those out to 2 meals per day by sharing. There were 4 of us and a lot of times we just got 2 meals and split them. We usually ended up throwing food away, too. We have 2 girls that don't eat very much, though.

When our kids were little, we did some sharing: MK - Launching Pad & Pecos Bill, Epcot - Mexico CS, AK - Flametree BBQ, HS - not any that I can think of.

Also take into consideration the time of year you are going. We ate much less in June & July than we did in January or even April. Florida heat really diminished our appetites - even our then-teenage boys! We ate breakfast in our room, had a snack or 2 - I would take granola bars, fruit leathers and water and we would buy popsicles or ice cream - and then an evening meal in a park or resort.

When paying OOP, it does add up fast!

We typically share food everywhere at WDW. I have a strong dislike for feeling "full" while I walk all over the park and climb in and out of rides - so uncomfortable. Portions are very large everywhere at WDW and a lot of the food is very "heavy."
