Best mac and cheese in disney?

I LOVE mac and cheese, being from England we never really get to have it so i'm super excited to shovel in as much as physically possible on my next trip to Disney (along with ANYTHING peanut butter)

I've seen a few older posts about it on the disneyfoodblog but i was just wondering what with all the new restaurants at Disney Springs etc if people had a new favourite or a classic oldie they recommend? (and yes i will make or change an ADR based on mac and cheese, even if its just a side )

A fellow Mac & Cheese lover here, from Sweden, so we rarely get the good brands in our stores, people just don't know how to appreciate this lovely side dish (that I easily make a whole dinner out of every time I get the chance)!

I too am a mac and cheese addict (And live outside the US)
Right now at the top of my list is the mac & cheese from Wolfgang Puck Express at DS. I haven't yet tried it but the table next to us ordered it and it looked absolutely amazing!!!!!!!! AND I read a ton of good reviews about it! AND you don't need an ADR because it's a QS place!

Also, there'r some special man & cheese dishes served at the Friar's Nook at the MK. On my last trip I got the pot roast one and I can't say I really liked it but soooo many others on these boards have recommended it so maybe you'll like it!

Oh, and by the way, I placed an order from Garden Grocers to be delivered to my resort last trip- most of what I ordered was different variations of mac & cheese to take home with me!

SOLD! I've just looked up the Wolfgang Puck one and its making me drool...4 cheeses sounds heavenly!!!

They have delicious Mac n Cheese at the Trails End Buffet!!! So good!! I'm a mac n cheese addict myself & I'm sure to eat here every trip. They have a great variety of food too!

Friar's Nook in MK has pot roast Mac and Cheese and a bbq Mac and cheese. Last time I was there they had a Mac and cheese dog that was yummy. I also like the Mac and cheese in chefs de France. Gratin de something...but very nice

No mac and cheese anywhere at Disney comes close to the side order of Truffles Mac and Cheese at the Yachtsman. Yes, that is my opinion, but I make a reservation and eat a big steak there every trip just to have that side order touch my senses. Unbelievable.

This Friar's Nook is looking more and more like it needs to be added to the list! I'm started to feel the need for a man v food style challenge, tackling all the mac and cheeses i can get my hands on whilst at Disney and then reporting back

Gratin de Macaroni from Chefs de France. Cannot wait to have it again! Gruyere cheese, yum!

ETA: We like it so much, I looked up the recipe and now make it at home, but we will absolutely order it again/anyway if we are lucky enough to score an ADR at Chefs this time. The real deal is better than what I can manage at home.

You might want to check out Art Smith's new restaurant Homecoming - Florida Kitchen when it opens up at Disney Springs. I suspect his mac and cheese will be amazing and you can get his Fried Chicken while you are there.

Is the availability of mac & cheese in the UK regional? I was surprised you don't get to have it much since you're from England, so I looked it up, and what I found says its origins are from the UK. Or is it different from what we generally have in the US?

Anyway, now I might need to go make some (I always make homemade - relatively easy, and SO much better than any box or frozen kinds).

Doesn't Jiko have some good mac & cheese?

I was surprised, too. There's great cheddar available in the U. K., so I don't understand why there would be a problem.

It's easy enough to make at home from scratch, and much better than the boxes (though I will use the boxes more often).

I don't know its origins, had a browse myself and a load of sites say different things with most saying the exact origin is unknown but in England its definitely seen by most as a staple of american cuisine. You can get it in the frozen isle of supermarkets but it is not easily found in restaurants/pubs, believe me if I ever saw it on a menu I would be ordering it and I've only ever had it in my life once in England at a place called Byron's (american style burger joint) and it was just so so. For example if you look up TGI fridays menu in the US there is a side of mac and cheese available, look it up on the UK website...nada

I've made it at home but its not the same as done well in an american restaurant, maybe thats a reflection of my cooking skills . But ones made with 4 cheeses, truffle and lobster are definitely the type of things my mac and cheese dreams are made of and what will be getting me excited to eat a LOT of mac and cheese when i'm on my vacation
