Best loop?

I am sure this has been asked already but what is the best loop? We have only camped once at the fort, and we did love it, we are camping again this year! Just me and my dh. The first time we camped at the fort we were in site 1437, which we liked o.k. other than the fact it was a little tight to get into. We have a 30 ft. tt

If you stayed in the 1400 loop previously you had sewer/water/electric, and cable. If you're looking for that again. I'd recommend the 600 loop. We liked the proximity to both the Meadow area and the Settlement area.
I know they are currently expanding that loop, so I'm not sure what it will be like by the time you visit, however, we liked it and would request it again. It was NOT a pet loop. That being said, we did have someone across from us with a dog. Seems that goes on no matter what loop you request.
Enjoy your trip! :thumbsup2

Thanks Auntie! Yes, we will be needing the water, sewer, electricity and cable this time as well. We will be going at the end of October and although we liked the 1400 loop, it would be nice to stay in another area this time. I am just excited about going back to the Fort:banana:

Just be aware that 600 is now a Premium loop, and will cost a bit more than 1400 did last year. If you are wanting to stay with a Preferred loop, the only ones sure to be preferred later this year are 100-300, of which 100 & 200 are non-pet. They are right next to the Settlement Trading Post, so they are in the midst of the action around the marina and a bit removed from the Campfire and pool. I should also note that 1400 is undergoing the conversion to Premium right now.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Looks like we may be back in the 1400 section, which is really o.k.

What type site ressie do you have?

We were in 1300 over Thanksgiving and really liked that loop. We were in 1331 and it is inside the loop. I would have liked 1333 better because it was bigger and on the corner of the inside of the loop. I liked being close to the playground(GREAT playground, vb net and bb court area), bus stop and comfort station but HATED being on the orange bus route. We were in 1400 last January and liked that loop even better. We had the first site on the left on the outside loop(I think Big Bear) and it was HUGE. We really liked being close to the bus stop and playground/bb court area. I don't remember our site number, I think it was 1407? We were pretty far from the cs but don't use it anyway.

If you loved it the first time just love it the next time and dont' sweat the small stuff since loop locations are a personal thing.

With the changes made in the campground...
The 1400 loop will be a premium rate loop as well this year. Same as rate as 600 loop that I recommened earlier. Only 100, 200, and 300 will be preferred loops (300 both a pet and preferred loop)which was the rate you paid last year when you stayed in the 1400.
(as if THAT didn't confuse you any further! )

Which loops are premium?
And which premium loop would be best to be "as close as possible" to both the singalong campfire area and swimming pool? Or what about closest as possible to pool and dock area (to get on boat for MK)?
And lastly- can you try to request a loop similar to how you can "request and then cross your fingers you get it" for a resort specific building/floor?

Loops 400-600, 800, 1200-1400 are currently premium (or closed for conversion in the case of 1400). Of these, 1300 is closest to the pool, 1400 is closest to the Campfire, and 400 is closest to the marina. I find 500 to be a nice compromise location, well situated to all three facilities. Yes, you can have a loop request noted on your reservation.

Okay marina would probably be #1 choice, pool next, campfire we can make our way to- it will still be a lot less time/energy to get there than when coming from another resort! That's for sure. LOL Since we'd use the marina the most- that's #1.

How do we get a request noted? Just call and ask for it? Or do we email or what? Thanks for the help!

See Fort FAQ's at the top of the Camping page and click on faxing reservation requests.

No, you can also call CRO, give them your ressie number and ask them to note it. But Flame is right, doing a fax to the Fort a few days before arrival will really reinforce the request.

I was also told to send a fax about 4-5 days from your arrival date. Don't send it before that or too close to the day you get there.

TCD and others say a fax is what really works since it is sent to the site assigner. It worked for me this past Thanksgiving. I didn't ask for a certain site or loop, but told them what I wanted to be close to and they gave me everything I asked for. When you call the reservation center they are clueless about the Fort and who knows what they will put on your ressie but it doesn't hurt to call them along with a fax.
:)
