Best (logical) persuasive essays/speeches

I am teaching persuasive essays to my high school students and I thought watching a video or reading a sample of a great one would help before we begin. I am emphasizing evidence and logical support (not emotional/propaganda, etc. ). If you know of any resources out there, I would appreciate it!

Not sure if it is what you are looking for or not, but the classic scene with Henry Fonda from the film Twelve Angry Men immediately sprang to mind.

Hmmm. Nothing is more persuasive than MLK's "Letter from Birmingham Jail" but it does rely on emotional as well as logical appeals.

For an effective example of a speech that purports to use "facts" while not really doing so, have them read Richard Nixon's "Checkers" speech.
