Hi - I'm almost sure that I'm going to book to stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge and Caribbean Beach (I keep changing my mind!!). I've heard that some savannah views are better than others at the AK Lodge and was wondering what other people thought???

Plus: We've stayed at Caribbean Beach before and never remember thinking it was too big to walk around, but I keep hearing people say that you should try and stay in certain places to avoid too much trekking about. As this is the first time we are taking a small child, do you think I should request a particular village nearer the food court/ pools (i don't know which ones they are!!), or should I just not worry about it???

Any help is gratefully appreciated!!!

I was on the Kudu trail recently and it was great - I can't imagine you could have a bad view from any of the Savannah rooms - I would ask for one nearer to the lobby (though not on Kuku level 3 as this is where everyone walks past to get the elevators. We were right at the end of the Lodge and it was some trek let me tell you!!

Just shuffling through my old paperwork to see which room we stayed at . . . talk amongst yourselves while I find it ;)

Ah, here we go . . . savannah view Room 5329, top floor on the Kudu trail.

I can't tell you how much we enjoyed our stay here. I am paranoid about other people's noise, so always request top floor. Got just what I wanted, although I had read reviews from people saying get a lower floor you see the animals more. Disagree really, we had stunning views of the animals/birds night and day - whatever time I went out onto the balcony (and so excited it was during the night too a few times  ), there was always some sort of animal roaming around.

In your room is an animal guide - pictures to show you exactly what you're looking it.

It's not just a hotel . . . it's an experience, a fantastic one at that :sunny:

:) Hi

We stayed in Aruba at CBR, even though technically it is the furthest away from the food court you can cut across the bridge (via a little island) cutting out some of the distance.

Even though I liked CBR, if being centrally located in resort would be better for you have you thought of POFQ? Still a moderate so very similar to CBR, but much more compact. Like you we never thought CBR was too big until we stayed at POFQ. It is close to CBR so centrally located for all the parks, plus they have a boat to take you from the resort to DTD which is great fun. POFQ also shares the facilities with POR as they are sister resorts so you get to use both pools food courts etc, POR also has a bar with an entertainer a few nights per week that the children (and most of their parents! :rotfl: ) rearly enjoyed. If you have already stayed at CBR why not try somewhere new?
Wherever you choose i'm sure you will have a great time ;)

Stayed at Martinique 25, ideal for food court and main pool. Bus stop about 1 minute walk away. :cheer2:

We have booked a water view at the CBR will this mean we will be nearer the food court, if not and I want to request that do I need to contact them beforehand to do so. many thanks

Snookhams - according to my guidebook a CBR waterview could be anywhere - there's a big lake in the middle so I guess if it overlooks that or a pool it would count as a water view??

You used to be able to fax the resort direct with requests but I'm honestly not sure what the policy is now - you could certainly add it to your reservation though (depending I guess on who you made it with and if they are willing to pass it on? Unless you made it through CRO in which case I would call them and get your request added :) )

CBR is pretty big and if you are taking a 4yo then you might want to try and ask for somewhere closer like Martinique, which isn't very far away at all :cool1:
