Best Location at SSR

I want to be centrally located at Saratoga Springs, my home resort in DVC. This will be my first trip "home" and I want to be as close to the restaurant, main pool, etc. What bldg to I request...I have a 2 bedroom reserved. Has anyone requested via fax? How did that go over?? I plan on using the 4 day before method as suggested on allearsnet.

DVC resorts do not accept faxes at all. It is listed in your member information. List your requests when you book with Member Services and they will try but no guarantee. If you fax it will go in the can.

The Springs area is the closest to the main building.

You should call DVC Member Services and put in your request through there. You can put in requests at any time, but they are just that- requests. You are not guaranteed any specific location.

I just stayed at SSR (which is my home resort, as well) in August and requested the Springs section, which we got. We were in a 2 bedroom too. Our room was right next to the main pool, restaurants (Artist Palette & Turf Club), check-in, etc. We had a nice view of a little lake and the room was wonderful. I definitely recommend that location.

As the previous poster mentioned you will want to stay in the Springs section as that is the closest to the amenities you mentioned.

We have not found any noisy areas at this resort, in fact we found it to be the quietest at Disney. Some one say the Paddocks are the most removed, but we stayed there this summer and like the location alot. You can always ride the bus to the front if you don't wish to walk. We did not find the distance a problem at all. When Carousel opens I would say it would be the furthest from the main area and a pool. It is close to a bus stop though.

Thanks Sammie. I have a few questions about SSR.

1). Does SSR Buildings have internal corridor (i.e. similar to deluxes), or the corridors are external (just like the moderates)?
2). "You can always ride the bus to the front if you don't wish to walk" - are they the same buses (to the parks), or there are buses that run within the resort (like CSR)?
3). Level of mousekeeping - we booked via AAA Vacations (so NOT renting DVC points): Does mousekeeping take care of everything? Just curious if we should do our own dish-washing, or mousekeeper will get us new ones?

1) No, the buildings at SSR are exterior corridors. Their layout is just a little different from most moderates, though I'm not finding the words to correctly explain them. There are elevators and outdoor hallways and they're all covered.

2) There are the busses to the parks, which can be used to drive around the resort. Typically the busses all follow the same order of bus stops, with the Springs being the last (though I did find Downtown Disney to be different though). So if you are at the Carousel or Paddocks, you can hop on basically any theme park bus and wait until it gets to the Springs, which is by the food/main pool/check-in. Or you can take an internal resort bus, which I would assume is like the ones CSR must have (though I can't say for sure since I haven't stayed there since I was like 4 ).

3) I can't really answer this because I am a DVC member. We did our own dishes. The villa does have a dishwasher.

On AllEarsNet they suggest that you fax a "confirming" fax to Disney Central Reservations (DCR) (for reservations made through DCR) four days prior to arrival with any "must haves" listed.

They do not suggest faxing DVC. Here is a link to the page.
