What is the best land (or lands) to be in once MK starts to get into the busy time of the day (which is basically most of the day :) ). I've heard that Fantasyland gets crazy busy where you can't even walk around in the early afternoon! Is there a better place to be once it starts to get busy (say around lunch time and after).

I would like to know the same thing and wondered what time Fantasyland starts to get congested ?

I would say that Fantasyland definitely starts getting congested mid-morning.

We typically stay around Adventureland/Liberty Square/Frontierland in the afternoon.

Mid- morning you mean around 11:00 ? I was just wondering because I have my fastpasses from 10:30 - 12:30 at FL and plan to eat lunch at 1:00 with a fastpass. Not sure I want to be walking around a mob or not.

Well our plan is to be at RD (or early ADR) and get as much done by 11 "ish". Maybe have a FP for something like ETWB, then a BOG FP for lunch and then we'll want to hang around for the FoF parade. We may set up the other 2 FP's for that in-between time or after parade time but even so, we'll have time to kill. I don't want to be in a mob either so I didn't know if there was an area that is either more spread out or sees lower crowds...

IMO - The most congested area in MK seems to be the area by Splash and Big Thunder in Frontierland. Even when the park isn't too crowded, it can be hard to move in that area.

If we are there and it is real crowded, we tend to think less in terms of what land we should be in (all lands will have some rides that are really long) and instead think of what can we do while it is crowded.

Last year, we ended up on Main Street during the most crowded time of day to meet Marie (got there just before her set, so there was no line yet), meet Mickey (line wasn't bad:confused3), shop at the Emporium (the shops are more crowded at the end of the day, the will hold packages for you, and we got to use the coupon on the back of our CS receipt), and we had lunch at Crystal Palace.

There are a number of attractions/ adventures throughout the park that you can do when it is crowded. :goodvibes

Last September, even when the parks weren't very crowded, the area near Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain was PACKED. We could barely move through the crowd to get out of there! It was crazy!

Yeah our plan is hit rope drop ride Peter Pan, It's a Small World and Under the Sea. At 10:30-11:30 I have ETWB fastpassed, then hope to have the Mine Train fastpassed at 11:30-12:30 then go to our lunch at BOG around 1:00. Right now I have Under The Sea fastpass at 11:30-12:30 but plan to change it to the Mine Train. But now I'm not sure if it will be so crowded it will get frustrating to get around the area. I have posted a question about when to visit the new FL and the answers I got were first thing in the morning, at night before closing and during the first parade.

I do not travel during busy times of the year...but I personally think the FL expansion helped with the congestion somewhat in this area. There's still lots of people...but it's much better now (in my opinion). I think the Tangled bathroom area helps too...traffic flows much better than it used to.

I agree that the Splash Mountain BTMRR area is pretty bad though...but not necessary to walk through unless you are going to one of those two rides.

Personally...mid-day is my favorite time to either watch shows (Tiki Birds, Country Bears, Philharmagic), eat, or stake out a spot for the parade. There's a quiet place on Main Street that I like to sit and relax to pass the time.

Walking anywhere mid day can get frustrating and congested...especially when it's busier. I think your plan sounds good because it will keep you in a relatively small area. The worst is if you try to cover a very large distance and trek from one end of the park to the other. That gets pretty frustrating...
